RebekahR. I tend to get all my paper etc in sales as will. My biggest money saver is getting plain paper - eg foil red or foil gold or something like that and brown wrapping paper. That way the paper can be used for any occasion not just xmas. Then I accessorize it by just using different ribbon for different occasions. This year I got 15m rolls of ribbons from tiger tiger at £1 each.

Just popping in to say congrats on the new thread and belated Merry Christmas to all.

I dont post much unless theres a bargain i've seen but like to read to keep up with you all. For those asking, this thread is a little bit like a gym buddy. In the middle of summer when you're picking up stocking fillers on holiday, it's hard for your own family to understand what the heck you're doing so its always nice to know you're not the only one. It's also your conscience and reminds you when you should have made your presents, written your cards, mixed your cake etc.

Happy New Year to you all _party__party_ as I probably wont post again til 2014.

  • CazD2008 - hope all goes well for you. :T

Nana - love all the pics. ;)

7roland8 - it must have taken ages to put all your decorations out. The results were definitely worth the effort.

Feisty - I think I came across it on pinterest - will see if I can find it. Good luck with the books.

    Hi All!

Found out in June this year that I have Polycystic ovaries and low progesterone, we have been referrd to the assisted conception unit at Birmingham Womens Hospital so really hoping they will be able to help and 2014 will be our year!

Snap -(as well as endometriosis)!! Low progesterone was overcome (after several unhappy endings) with a simple pessary taken every day (stuck where the sun doesn't shine-lol!!). We went through Solihull care 4 suite for our DD (17 years ago). Birmingham Women's is a wonderful hospital-Ive got my fingers crossed for you xxx

ChrissyG- I echo your signature about dropping the dress sizes- I think I have re gained the 2 that I dropped before Christmas over the last 7 days!!!

I haven't really been to the sales either in the flesh or online (apart from a couple of packs of cards).

We don't really do New Years either nit-nurse not2. Just stay up with a glass of something to see the New Year in.

    Afternoon all,
Looks like we are all making a good start on 2014 festivities, thankyou for the messages of congrats, we are very excited but I am also pretty terrified as I know money will be tight, so will be looking here for some budgeting support and advice over the coming year :)
I agree with the thoughts of NYE, for me it always seems a bit of an anti-climax so I'm hoping to convince OH that this year we will have a takeaway and watch cr*p TV in our PJs.
Nothing purchased here yet in the sales, have some wrapping paper in my studio basket but I'm loathe to pay the 4.99 postage when it will effectively double the cost so that can stay where it is for a little while.
Not ventured out to the real shops at all other than to Aldi for a small food shop today, and picked up a half and half cork/dry wipe board for £2.99 which we will need when we eventually move from this house.
Well I think I've waffled on enough now,
Hugs and well wishes to you all
    xxxx
