Pinksteps How is DS coping with his new casts? Well I know how I bet, with the same gorgeous smile and humour that he faces everything else. Hope you've had lots to smile about xxx

DS is well although he has not yet ventured outdoors yet. Must admit I've enjoyed shutting ourselves in and the world out but we will be brave soon, I promise.

We are going for homemade presents where possible for next Christmas.. I have grabbed some bits.. I want some glass paints but in the meantime I need to knit my wool stash!
Home made presents are a very good idea. I made shortbread and recipients seemed to love it.

Right then i'm still not getting it. Is this basically to organise christmas starting now and doing so throughout the year? All organisation or is this primarily craft bassed?

Bit if everything really :) this the best group on MSE - supportive, caring, funny and just basically awesome :)

I thought I might do small Christmas cakes and get the littlies to paint little votive jars and add a smelly candle and get a decent pic of the girls for grand parents. Adding shortbread is a good idea too.

Cakes I can do and freeze in the summer if I get the urge.

  • morning! i've decided to do more of a handmade xmas next year too.. hats for my sil and sister (shall get my sister a new handbag too) so shall be looking for some nice hats to knit... brothers maybe hats too if i can find some nice mens hats todo unless something else comes up. I will then wait for tescos to bung their mens smellies on half price and chuck a set with them to it or a box of chocs.

Mum will be easy enough with notebook/smellies or jewellery. brother in law usually a dvd though i might get him a lumberjack style shirt instead. Stepdad is always something stupid. kids will be easy enough.

I've seen some nice handmade with love labels on pinterest.. so i'll design and adapt one of those to put onto the hats.

Oh and i've seen some parodys of kids books for peoples birthdays already too. so gift wise seem to be sorted this year. Just need to get the items and make them lol.
    Totally debt free wohooo 2014

I think we sometimes underestimate how much our homemade gifts actually cost. ;)

    Take care everyone

  • Hi All!

OMG this thread excites me so much lol I'm looking forward to Christmas 2014 already wahoooo! Have been MIA for a while, I sloped off towards the end of last year as became really busy with various things!

Personal goal for 2014 is to finally become pregnant after trying since oct 2011! Found out in June this year that I have Polycystic ovaries and low progesterone, we have been referrd to the assisted conception unit at Birmingham Womens Hospital so really hoping they will be able to help and 2014 will be our year!

Hope everyone had a fab christmas and hers to 2014!

    Caz
    Xx

Ps my birthday is 30th august!xx
  • Breezing through between cleans and cuppas, Just back from asda, picked up two Moshi Monster Advents (with the intention of putting away till next year, kids got there before I could hide them) £4 priced at £8.95 on the shelf! So much cheaper than £19 as they were on amazon. Also picked up some bits for fillers and pressies for birthdays, make up/baking related. :D
