Hope you soon settle back into routine AussieLass.

Mrs Mcawber, good luck with the packing. No doubt you will be popping in and out between journeys to the tip etc! Hope you have a successful day.

    Good morning everyone

Happy Birthday to meanmarie and Miss Pink!
Aussie sounds like an anxious journey home but glad you got there safe and sound.

The students across the way decided that recycling their beer cans at 5.15am would be a great idea. If it hadn't been so early I would have stayed and watched as they made me laugh. Three grown men (all about 21,22) each standing two beer cans on the ground and then seeing who can jump on them and crush them best. Except I think they were a little the worse for wear as they kept missing and slipping. They were absolutely filthy from the wet ground. :rotfl: They did their bit for the environment though. :D

Off to get organised soon as we are heading to the Farmers Market in the centre of Preston today. DD also wants to spend some of her money ( unheard of, she makes Ebeneezer Scrooge look like a scattercash) as she wants some new clothes that SHE will pick. I won't be arguing much if she is paying. DS also wants to look in some games shops so I don't think we will get back home anytime soon.

Racy will you be keeping us posted on the new batch of chicks? We had two ducks wander into the office on Friday. The owner of the village store has started to feed the ducks for some reason and now they just wander into anywhere and everywhere. It was cute when they were little ducklings but they are fully grown now and turning into quite a nuisance. The store owner won't listen to anyone though so I'm not sure how we solve the problem.

Have a super Sunday, wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

    Good Morning All :hello:

Happy Birthday to meanmarie and Pinks DD _party_

I do believe it has stopped raining here  and the sun is shining  I have still got a lot of sorting out to do and have to get my DD over to dancing somehow but it hopefully wont be such a problem if the weather is a bit nicer. My Dad ended up taking her yesterday as I got soaked going to Tescos on my bike. We were going to take the bus but the rain was coming down so heavy I gave in and called my Mum :o I also ended up buying a new phone as mine stopped working on Friday - tried to return it but I forgot all of the bits so decided to return it later and bought a new one. Plugged in the new one and had the same problem - no dial tone, so it seems it is a fault with the line and not the phone  again Dad came to the rescue and phoned Virgin for me as my mobile has no signal where I live but they can not come out till next Thursday - so no phone till next Thursday :o I just dont know how I will cope :rotfl:
We have mince and mash on the menu for dinner and I must make that soup that I was going to make yesterday

Have a good one everybody and glad to hear you got back safe and sound AussieLass. Well done on your little windfall and the Ebaying Penny Pincher!!,

take a great big ((((HUG)))) if you need one :D

  • Good morning, my OS friends!

Happy birthday meanmarie, hope you have a lovely day

Here it is so, so wet. Good for the hydro boards here in Scotland, but it would be nice to get the washing out to dry!

Aussielass, what a frantic dash for the plane.... hugs, I hope you're recovering from the panic and the jetlag.

N9eav, glad you enjoyed your BBQ, and Edinburghlass, your Florida hols sounded fab.

RacyRed, lovely to hear from you and get a coot update! especially as my access to the great outdoors is limited whilst I have to keep out of daylight as much as I can.

I've now stepped up my medication for the first time and it's biting... but it's a sign it's doing its job:D - so the temporary discomfort will be worth it in the long run. I've about another 18 months to go. I just hope I can make it to work tomorrow.... I'm quite good at toughing things out, so I'm hopeful. But won't make a martyr of myself if I really am not up to it.

Today I'm going to put a few loads through the WM and drier, and make some chicken broth with a carcase. I'm also going to teach myself to do sudoku - have never got into it, but it might be a great distraction at the moment! And good for keeping the old grey cells ticking over.

Big big hugs to everyone, specially the poorlies ((( ))).

Have a great day, wherever you are, whatever the weather

    Morning all,
Happy birthday Ms Pink & Mean Marie!
Grey and drizzly here so might finally get on with finishing painting the bathroom (first coat done last November!). Yesterday I stripped the grotty paint off the window ledge - been here for 9 years and it's needed doing all that time. :)
PsychoKitty nicely asleep on my lap. Unfortunatley he was awake for food at 5am, and OH didn't get back to sleep, so he's just gone upstairs for a lie-down! PK pee'd on him yesterday so he's not in the good books! I think it was our fault for going out for 3 hrs, and not ensuring he was taken to the loo when we got home but OH doesn't see it that way!
So anyone think this will be the wettest June ever?
  • good morning all

haven't posted in here for a few days, been busy with the new job, and trying to cook OS style :j

Went out to Trago yesterday, on a hunt for Engie Benjie toys, youngest DS has decided he wants Engie Benjie toys for his bday, and because Engie Benjie is not on tv much anymore, they toys are discontinued. Looked online but only come across them at very expensive prices because you cant get hold of em anymore. We had this problem last year when he asked for tractor tom toys, couldnt get em anywhere online, but went to Trago and they had loads :j (trago tend to stock discontined toys at cheap prices) so thought it might be the same with Engie Benjie toys, but no luck, they didnt have any at all :(

Did end up getting a few bargains though, cheap fish food and cat food, some cheap household cleaning products, and oldest DS who is due to go school in sept, got to choose his first lunchbox, he got a Lunar Jim one, which he hasnt let go of since buying it yesterday, he even took it to bed with him last night :rotfl:

We then went up to Castle point, which is a touristy sort of place, near Pendennis castle. We all had ice creams and sat looking out onto Falmouth beach.

Went into Asda after, Mum paid for the kids to go in the creche/ballpool so had a nice hr of quiet shopping :D

Today I need to do housework, ignore it yesterday and went off out for the day :rotfl:also cooking a roast chicken for dinner yummyyyyy :D

Got an interview tomorrow for another job I applied for ages ago when I was looking for work. Didnt hear anything back and in the meantime got the job Im doing now. But got a letter this week inviting me to an interview on mon. Now im thinking if I should bother going for it or not? I really don't know. Part of me thinks i should go as it's not like ive got anything to lose. The other part thinks I can't be bothered, Ive got a job, so why use my time and petrol etc going to an interview when I dont really want the job  My mum says I should go as someone else has lost the chance of an interview because I was given an interview only to turn it down, so shes made me feel guilty about it, But I just dont know whethere to go or not

hello everyone, too many to mention you all now.

off to asda shortly to stock up the cupboards. its pouring with rain, torrential so my trip visiting relatives will be postponed. don't fancy driving in weather like that when its not essential, will just phone instead and go next weekend.

trip to Ikea was successful. got two chest of drawers and a bookcase so I am in the middle of deep cleaning DD's room. so far I have three black bin bags of rubbish and a mountain of washing. there was a pile of clothes in the bottom of her wardrobe which seemed to be a mixture of clean and dirty so its all in the machine. she has arrived safely in switzerland although apparently got travel sick on the way.

Morning all............((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))) if you need one.A dull and grey one here, but at least its not raining..yet!!!!!!!!!! Sorry just looked out the window and it has started...........oh poo and I wanted to go out..............

Supper is roast chicken with all the trimmings..........

Have been looking at the brochure for our holiday next spring, France of course, but on the Somme, we were there a couple of years ago when we had the caravan, we liked the little town just round the coast from where we were staying and we can then explore further down the coast to the south........as previous customers we get £100 off the cost of the holiday, £50 early booking fee and £50 because we have holidayed with them before.

Looks like I may come in £20 under on my food budget this month so £20 into my holiday account............

GD is off to Paris at midnight tonight..........lucky girl, its a school trip......why do they always go at such weird hours, she gets back at 4.15am on Friday and they have to go to school that day........she will be knackered by the time FRiday night comes.

Right time to go, want to do some baking whilst the supper is cooking so better decide what I am going to make...........

    Have a good day.............................
