Honestly? He has cheated on her a couple times over the years. He has needed 'breaks' where he lives away but is still with her because he was struggling with family life (they do have a daughter together). He does try but he struggles.
They got engaged at christmas a couple of years ago (no ring though..just a card lol) then he changed his mind etc etc
Thing is,she will often makes jokes about his cheating with him so it looks like she doesn't care.
Sounds like she'd be better off if she got the charm from you and no bracelet from him. She might wake up and see the mug she's being taken for then.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0 -

The best present she's going to get this - or any Christmas - is having such a good friend as you!

I'm sure you have the best of intentions OP but I can't imagine getting involved in someone else's relationship at that level. I think you need to take a step back in future. It sounds too much like a soap opera to me.0 -

Sorry, didn't mean to offend. Apologies if I sounded sharp.:)
I'd agree that helping out is common but not to the extent where you have to twist his arm to get the money out of him, offer to help him pay and be party to their financial/emotional tensions.0
