For one; it wasn't 'stupid advice' as it was countered with caution.
For two - some of your responses on this thread have been emotional because they are from your own viewpoint; you have had (apparently) posts deleted (albeit on another thread) or edited because they were felt to be inappropriate.
And yes; your response to this suggestion (that animals can have pain relief intended for humans) was emotional.
Given that, for the most part, medication is initially tested on animals anyway the effects of medication on animals is understood by scientists/doctors/researchers!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Why on earth not???
One question needs one question mark. Overuse of punctuation is indicative of an inappropriate emotional response, in itself.
Perhaps, while your own perceived issues with vets are so 'important' to you it might be sensible to avoid becoming embroiled in other people's issues; because your opinions are being clouded by your own (real or imagined) experiences of the quality of veterinary care.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Just wondered who's viewpoint should I have rather then my own?
When I said do not give human drugs to your pets before checking with vet I did not burst into tears. That was not emotional just a FACT that all the pet owners should be aware of.
I would not advice pet owners to test medication on their pets as is done by doctors/reseachers/scientists.!!0 -

Equally no-one, not even me, has said that pet owners should test medication on pets.
But the fact remains that animals are used to evaluate the effects of medication prior to the medication being tested on humans.
You're twisting words here - mine and the words of Stebiz. It was clearly stated that SOME human medication can be used on pets and that a vet should be consulted first.
As for 'viewpoint' - with regards to pets, their health and their treatment, you are in a position where your own experience is clouding your view. What happened to your pet appears to have affected your opinion of vets and their professional body in generalDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Not at all. Vets quite often suggest using certain human medicine on animals. If you can't get down a vet and the animal is in pain surely it is worthwhile investigating this avenue rather than leave the animal in distress. Some human medicines can do serious damage to animals, others are fine. Be proactive - those who have animals check with your vet and then if it ever happens you know.
How do you know which are fine and which can do serious damage?

Emotional and inappropriate.
Stebiz mentioned vets 3 times in the post you have responded to and clearly advised 'check with your vet'.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
