Just really discovered walking by canals last year as always used to have kids with us and they didn't like walking. Only ever been on a canal boat at the Falkirk wheel though.
Just checked Novotel and it does have free WIFI and a swimming pool but bet I don't find the time to go in it!

Off to gym soon with the girls, they are working on their badges today so DD2 is hoping she can get her silver to be with her sister on gold! That's if they ever get up out of bed!

It sound lovely your trip Sheils, have a lovely early valentine and enjoy your walks along the canal. A swim sounds lovely too.

I sounds lovely to be able to walk along the beach BlueBella. Have always fancied a canal holiday but scared of the locks so never tried one. We always used to walk along the canal when we lived in the Midlands many moons ago. It always seems peaceful somehow.

Hope the weather is better for you soon firefly, we have had lots of rain during the night and it is quite windy here too. Watch you don't get blown away feeding the zoo. Sister tried to go for a walk along the beach in Seaton yesterday and had to turn back as it was too windy to walk.

Have a lovely time taking the kids to swimming Wingo and hope they get the badges they are after. You sound a wonderfully dedicated Mom.

rains stopped here now but skies still full of dark clouds,
very windy out when doing the zoo :eek:
& a bit scary under the big trees with the branches
blowing :eek: thoughts of mary poppins kept popping in my mind

afternoon everyone have had a relaxing morning went out for paper had a cooked breakfast loads of tea and now doing some comping and no hangover weather here not as bad today but still very cold
