Just about to book Papillon helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon £400 for 2 of us including all fees- no extras. Is this good deal or do you think I'd get better if I waited till we're there - 2 weeks and on the count down!!!! Can't wait!!

Also says they will manage the properties so looks like nothing will change although reading other articles it does seem they are in a spot of trouble with massive debts

Caesars Acquisition Co. expects the deal to close in the second quarter. Caesars Entertainment will manage the properties.

Im off to Vegas soon. Ive been twice before but this time I'm going on my own. I have a total rewards card and last time I shown it in the quad hotel and got free tickets to the car museum. It's worth a look. I'm staying in Flamingo not stayed before but been inside. Previously I've stayed in Planet Hollywood which I loved and atThe Luxur. I found The Luxor abit far out and the staff were abit pushy. I have previously seen David Coperfield and this time hope to see Penn and Tellor. I've done the Grand Canyon and Hoover dam so any ideas of any other stuff to do on my tod. J

A quick question about resort fees.

We are due to go in April and have booked a Thomas Cook package as we got as good a deal as I could find booking separately and direct flights from Manchester.

As far as Im aware the resort fee is not included in the package price, there is no mention of it anywhere on the paperwork so I am fully expecting to pay it upon check-in. However what I have found is that on the Thomas Cook website for the hotel it states

'a local telephone charge $1 per room per day is charged by the hotel and is payable locally'

Now I think that the site is just not updated to reflect the change to resort fee as I cant imagine you have to pay the resort fee and the telephone charge.

Im wondering if its worth contesting the charge with Thomas Cook?

We're off with TC in August and our booking specifically states inc room charges. I'm pretty sure that when we booked there were offers excluding and including room charges

If you've got a car and fancy seeing some scenery then here's some possibilities:
Valley of Fire State Park (NE of LV, off I-15)
Zion, Bryce Canyon and Cedar Breaks (SW Utah; would need at least one overnight stop in that area)
Mount Charleston (NW of LV, nice and cool up there)
There's more information on Wikipedia, the National Parks Service web site, the Nevada state parks web site, Google Maps, YouTube etc.
Zion video (bear in mind that the park has many other far less terrifying hikes): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4CIN-N5cNwk

Social rewards users - is anyone doing the hashtag rewards on Caesars? I've not got an instagram account, wondering if it's worthwhile setting one up for this.

6 months and a couple of days until we go to Vegas. That sounds like AGES!!!

Not sure, it depends if they integrate it into every casino listing on the Social Rewards site. As far as I can see its only for Caesars Palace. If I already had an Instagram account I'd probably do it, but as I don't I'm sure if I can be arsed for 10points.

Certainly, if they roll it out to other Casino's on there I'd get an account and do it!
Currently saving and planning for the holiday of a lifetime to Vegas in summer 2014!

5 Nights @ Flamingo -> 1 Night @ Lake Mead -> 2 Nights @ The Grand Canyon -> 3 Nights @ The Mirage -> And Finally... 1 Night @ The Salone Fountain View Suite, Bellagio

we liked it too - there used to be a joke on another board about never paying for it - you can find free vouchers quite a few places including

Have a look at page 1 for some ideas. Whether you have a car or not will have a big impact on what might be suggested too.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I always thought it was chicken until my teenage son put me right.

I tried it a couple of years ago, just the once is enough:(
