I definitely get my moneys worth out of T-Mobile. The staff in the shop at Flamingo/Maryland are used to dealing with foreigners as well. They are mostly very pleasant. (99 times out of 100)

Well I resisted reading the thread until now but couldn't help myself.....

2014 will be the first year since 2001 that I won't be going to Vegas:(

I'm trying to convince myself a year off will be fine but having read the thread I now really want to go. I'm still playing myvegas for what its worth...

So jealous of you lucky people!

I'm in the same boat until I get some medical stuff out of the way and can get insured again. so like you I am likely to lose Vegas throughout 2014. I'm getting some vicarious Vegas time in with this forum, it does help me stay a bit sane (anything is an improvement!). the lull also allows me to 'myVegas' without the pressure of trying to hit point levels against a timescale.

I'm currently on level 86 with 86m xp's, with 32,550 lp's so less than 1% of lp's when compared with the number of playing points I've used. I have a playing bank of 389k which is only 13 max spins at 30k per spin. I have absolutely no idea if this is good or not. I do know that there are certain challenges that wipe out inordinately large numbers of points for a very poor return, e.g. the ones that require max betting to hit 6 wins in a row type things. So far I've only bought the 69p skip this level type ones where they are the last challenge that you need to unlock the next lot of casino challenges?

But as I said I'm content for now with just tripping along with min bets at low levels. There is only one shortcut that I've found for trying to get an edge on the challenges and that is to switch the challenge to those (very few) that target LP's as close before it pays to get the LP's bonus from say collecting 'x' numbers of pretzels, as close to getting a double payout as anything else.

It keeps me interested for the future anyway, probably very sad perhaps :(

Please everyone keep posting so that us few who are grounded can at least keep up to speed with what's happening over there. I still enjoy reading them all, knowing I will be back!

Just had a look at that, unfortunately if you ring local numbers roaming rates apply, also if your PAYG runs out of credit same applies.

I think I will stick to getting a US T Mobile $2 a day local sim deal ($10 for sim & activation in T mobile shop) when I arrive as I have done before inc free local calls & unlimited data & texts :)

there are always ways round it, you could dial the number that takes the minutes from your allowance to phone a US number.

I guess if you are going to be making a lot of local calls then maybe the T-Mobile is better but for me i will use it to call home.

If you run out of call credit you still have the unlimited text and data allowance anyway.

I have a question for the Myvegas experts. I started playing yesterday and I'm not too sure what exactly I need to be doing. How many LPs should I be aiming for a day (I have a full time job so can't play all day!)? I've got 6k so far and I'm not going to Vegas until August so I'm hoping to have enough for more than a buffet.

I'm also getting frustrated with the iPad app, it doesn't let me click on friends feeds to get the 50 or 101 chips and I have to use my laptop for this which I'm finding annoying! Also, my LP balance is the same on the iPad and laptop but my chips to play with don't sync. I'm down to 26 on my ipad and the only way I can seem to increase them is the hourly bonus of 100 which I then lose in 2 spins. Is there any way to get more?
  • Re: the Three Feel At Home sim, am I right in thinking it'll be great if you mainly want use data and send some texts back home for a week? Just get one of the All In One add-ons and you're away?

That is how i see it and plan to use it.

If i run out of inclusive mins i can always go to skype calling instead.

Has anyone connected through Detroit or Seattle? If so, how was immigration and are they easy to navigate?

Ferf, do you still have the link to the immigration wait times site? I factory restored my pc and forgot to save my bookmarks.

sure - think it's this one.

I connected in Detroit once on the way back to the US (from London) when I lived there...there was a storm and it was not a typical experience by any stretch of the imagination...it wasn't scary or dangerous but it was very very annoying but a one-off and weather related so I have no recollection of what it was like other than that.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

the ipad/mobile game is a separate game to the laptop/pc game

The LP's should sinc between them if you are logged into facebook, but your chip balances & levels will be different
