Hi everyone, just started reading the thread in advance of our honeymoon next year. Planning on a couple of nights in Vegas as part of a West Coast trip.

I've started using the myvegas mobile game but not yet connected to Facebook. Would you advise a separate facebook account for this game, is it likely to post lots of stuff to my timeline and annoy my friends?

You can set facebook to post to your own timeline(app settings) or to a set group of friends (all your myvegas friends can be grouped together and also given restricted access to your profile) this way you are not bombarding your real friends!
Don't advice setting up a new account as there are reports of Facebook blocking accounts
Make sure your join one of the myvegas groups on facebook. Have a search of this thread and previous threads for more specific info

Lizzielie, I think that was me. Driving (for me) in the USA is so much easier than the UK and Spain.
I'm glad you found it easy, I always worry when I tell people that.
The problem is that the Americans can't drive so you not only have to keep an eye out where you are going but also keep am eye on them:rotfl:
Also the wait at the lights in Vegas almost loses me the will to live
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Have you driven in Spain or Italy much, Stoneman? Americans are much easier to deal with than our European neighbours. The main thing that worries me in Vegas is the possibility of the driver being drunk.

has everyone seen the new MV rewards for GVR and Red Rock? We are most intrigued, particularly as we think the Station buffets are really good.

Hoping it won't be a fight to get them...my hubby noticed them on his phone late today so they were already sold out, but not sure how long they have been around and how quickly they go.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I believe they were added just after the 7am/3pm renewal time. I'm assuming they don't count towards the 3/30 days, so this is a really good thing if that is the case. We love Stations buffets too. Especially RR and GVR. Not too impressed with Palace Stn, but like their Mexican place.

We've booked! Well, flights anyway, going to book the hotel tonight. Yay! We go on September 12th, so not long to wait.

The GC helicopter rides, do they all do the same thing? We want to see the GC and it will obviously be the West Rim as it's a helicopter. I've been to Vegas before and it's one thing I regret not doing.

We came back from our trip last week having spent the first 4 nights in Las Vegas. We took a plane to the South Rim then transferred to a helicopter and flew over GC from there. It was expensive (approx £250 pp) but definitely worth it and the best place to see GC from for what we wanted. We were out from 5am until late afternoon as the day also included a short tour as well. We booked through Papillon and they were great - would have no qualms recommending them.
    Wish we were going back!

Unfortunately not optional now. nvh - do you have some days at Venetian/Palazzo very soon?
ah you are indeed correct! We are here now; Wifi requires no login which is a good indication! Ah well. Suppose I'd best try to win $100 somewhere to cover the cost ;)

All going well here so far. Eaten at a few new places but not done much out of the norm apart from the muscle car. Hat tip to stoneman for that one. Really enjoyed it! And Mrs NVH who I've never seen so nervous before ended up loving it and wants to do it again! Haha

Incidently, the talk on TV at the moment is about the police trying to stop glass bottles from being carried around on the strip :/
