ok - if the mention of the Panoramic Suite was the next step up then it's unlikely they're offering a HH room as there are a lot of rooms between the two, I think. We loved our Resort room...hated our HH room and since our comped nights come up as HH and no guarantee of upgrade we just won't stay there again.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

Bah, so Lions Share has gone / been won.
Few more days and it would've been mine - only reason we were going back to Vegas lol0 -
I saw that and I was happy it went to people who are regular Vegas visitors...I also think it's funny that it hit right as SLS was opening.
In any event now we don't have to have the 'where is that Lion's Share machine now' hunt most trips.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Friends of mine is staying at SLS right now. They are very disappointed in the size of the rooms for $240 a night. He posted a couple of pics on facebook and to be honest, I thought the room looked a bit cold. They are staying in a "World" room.0

The website says most rooms are about 360 sq ft which isn't very big at all. You can decorate it as nicely as you like but if your on top of each other every 2 seconds it's worthless.
I'm going to wait till I've decided I'm 100% going and then I'm going to see if the host will do a paid upgrade to something larger, if not I'm going to stay at PH.0 -
I would like to plan a trip for the two of us to Vegas for my 60th birthday next year. I find I can't manage these days in economy seats so need to book something like virgin premium economy but it really pushes up the price. Does anyone know when is the cheapest time to travel PE in terms of time of year and day of the week? I would travel from Manchester. For example is it cheapest in November on a Wednesday etc? I don't have to travel exactly on my birthday. TIA.
I've posted here as thought the seasoned LV travellers might have experience but let me know if you think I should post in flights section.0 -

If you feel that you couldn't do the 10.5 hours in economy how about flying indirect. We have done that a few times and to be honest we found that the inconvenience of having to handle your bags (Ohh err missus) and the added couple of hours onto the journey were outweighed by getting to stretch our legs after 7-8 hours, grab some decent food and then get on another plane for a few hours.
AA have always been our choice when doing that because their planes out of MAN/LHR to Chicago/Detroit/etc seemed to have more room in economy, and the crew are always really nice. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
First of all, I don't think Virgin operate the Vegas route from MAN in the winter.

That's good info about winter flights. We have no date in mind so could go any month Jan to Dec. Thanks for the idea about indirect flying. I think tho that I'd prefer direct & extra room. I guess what I'm saying is I accept it's going to be pricey for the flight so I'd like to choose the date when it is cheapest and most value.0 -

They also have the 'Main Cabin Extra' seats in Economy which can be purchased for extra $'s each way.
The other option is to pay for an exit row, but you need to be on the ball on securing those ASAP, and they're typically slightly narrower to accommodate for the arm rest having the tray table in it0
