Hi All, So December seems a long way off! We have had our flights changed twice now, firstly virgin cancelled and now BA so we are now flying from heathrow with BA. I always fly virgin so am a bit new to this. When I log onto the BA website it states that I cant pre-select seats until check in 24 hours before is this correct?

    Thanks

    Am :)

Got here ok last night now Laying in bed at Orleans trying to find match commentary on Ipswich Norwich game to no avail. We are winning tho:-)

Flight was fairly uneven tful we did get struck by lightning though , there was an almighty flash from outside, that was a first for me.

No luck on slots last night:(

They have made a lot of changes. ;-(

Has anyone seen anything about the stay requirements, in terms of whether you can only redeem a reward if you are staying at the hotel that actual night? Or if you could have stayed at an MGM property the night before or will the next night?
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I would offer to give you our slingbox login details but there's no way I'm getting my husband to turn over from F1 qualifying. :)

sorry to hear about the slots...it sucks when the first night is no good but hopefully that's the worst they will be and there will be all kinds of winning from here on out.

  • We had 2 nights in Vegas on a big road trip which we've just returned from. I wanted to thank everyone on this thread which I found really useful in planning - especially the MyVegas info. We got tickets for Zarkana, Monte Carlo breakfast buffet and NYNY rollercoaster tickets with our points which we were very happy with.

If anyone is looking for something a bit different to do, I can recommend Battlefield Vegas. They picked us up from NYNY in a Humvee and drove us to the range, then took us back after we were done. We all had a go - the kids shared the junior package and OH and me shot an MP5 - pleased to report I am the best shot in the family! It was something a bit different and the instructors and driver were all really friendly and helpful.
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."

Current MyVegas buffet requirements (I was getting confused and so was typing it out anyway)...this doesn't include the BOGOF options which I didn't check.

    Bellagio: No restrictions

    Aria: All require 1-night stay

    MGM: No restrictions.

MB: all require 1-night stay or pay 2x points for rewards without stay requirement.

    Mirage: no restrictions

MC: All require 1-night stay (including $50 food credit)

    Luxor: no restrictions

Excalibur: no buffets listed (assume down to closure due to refurbishment)

    CC: no restrictions, unsurprisingly.

I have sent a support message to MyVegas asking for clarification on the 1-night requirement...if that means you have to be staying there that actual night or not.

You can pay to reserve seats but in my opinion and from what I have been told there is no need to. not many pay and as long as you are on the ball at T-24 you will be able to grab a couple of seats together
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

In case it hasn't been mentioned:

SLS hosts are matching any offers from any other strip properties.

I have a Cosmo 3 night + $150 Free Play and it's been matched if I want to stay there November. I've also managed to get it matched at Planet Hollywood despite not having a players card for CET or ever staying there.

If anyone wishes to have either of these 2 contacts to try for yourself just PM me.

I only went as far as Wynncore on my last (and first) trip so I don't know how much further up the strip SLS is but the gambling rules look good and the rooms look nice (though allegedly a little small). Undecided whether I'm going PH or SLS yet.

can I be nosy and ask what type of room at PH?

If it's a Hollywood Hip room and you are use to Cosmo then I think you will be really disappointed. SLS would be a bigger move too - I'm assuming you're still using the Cosmo offer and adding another? Though I suppose SLS is a lot more isolated...I think it's about a mil from Encore with CC and Riviera between and Stratosphere a bit further north.

    Hi Ferf,

The host didn't say what room but I'm assuming it would be a Hollywood Hip. He said he expects around $600 theoretical loss a day to move up to something like the Panoramic Suite. It's likely I would do that knowing my luck but wouldn't commit to such numbers so would have to take the hip room.

You are right this is to make up the last 3 nights of a 7 night trip. Got a teaser offer from Wynn/Encore which is an option as well. The distance to SLS is a bit concerning though but I suppose if I'm saving what I would usually spend in $200 a night accommodation the odd taxi wouldn't hurt?
