Is the Palazzo the only hotel that has the lounge with complimentary hors d'oeuvres and cocktails with some of their rooms/suites ??
You have to be well off the bottom of the food chain to get access to that lounge (think suite with double doors and a marble entrance hall) - however IHG Royal Ambassador does give you access I believe with any room, and you get an upgrade.

I was about to say that Paris have something like that, and it's still showing on their website, but other references found indicate that it's closed.

Not sure what the price was to upgrade to include the lounge.

    Bellagio has one

It's one of those things that will be personal preference but assuming the upgrade is not really minimal in terms of money I would probably prefer to put the $$ toward something specific each day or a few things over the trip...somewhere like Vegas, I would probably constantly be looking at my watch and wanting to get out and go somewhere else because there are sooo many things to see and do and to me hanging out in a lounge would be a bit meh...but I also don't spend any significant time at the pool for the same reason, whereas others really enjoy relaxing for several hours a day...also as far as the food offerings, again, so many options in Vegas I wouldn't want to hit the lounge all the time but might feel I needed to get my money's worth - but others would like the convenience, etc...so it's 100% personal preference on something like this.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Great report Stoneman, surprised about the issues with the Platinum, you've always raved about them, hopefully they'll pull their socks up.

Must say your MSE elite ways are great reading, you've prompted me to suss out (again) my BA miles for best deal.

Great score on the upgrade and the October stay :)

    Hi

Did you stay at the Platinum Hotel Spa? I just came across this one and think it may be more our thing than a hotel/casino as it has it'a own kitchen with fridge and we can do as we like food wise.

    Thanks

Is there a reason you want to book with the travel centre?
I have never used them so not saying dont.

What do you want to use them for? a package?

if so have you priced flights and hotel seperately.

Stoneman may even have a contact at the Platinum but even if he hasnt have you checked their prices direct, same with flights

EDIT I hadnt read your earlier posts.

Do you want to stay on or off strip

Fair enough, but bear in mind that there are restaurants of all types and at all price levels in Las Vegas, everything from fast food to fine dining. Even without a car you can easily use the monorail, the bus service or taxis to get around up and down the Strip.

If you want to do self catering then it might be worth seeing if it's possible to rent a villa in Las Vegas - but without a car, distances may rule that out.
