Pardon my ignorance, where is CPH?
    Sorry, it's Copenhagen :)

Prices seem to have gone up again today unfortunately, there's still some cheap deals out there though. Specifically if you look at airports in the following areas:
    Ontario, CA
    Santa Ana, CA
    Los Angeles International, CA

This still seem to be coming in at around £375 for certain dates for me (routing back through to Manchester as well).

Or you can return from Las Vegas for some of them.

You need to weigh up the cost effectiveness of the car you'd perhaps need, plus a night in Copenhagen, plus positioning flights, plus night in LA or similar (etc etc). Good deal for West Coast flights though if you are looking at doing a road trip of have Avios to burn on the internal flights (4500 Avios + £1 for flights of up to 650 miles).

It's a really good price though for August / September flights in my opinion, however will depend on how you value your time for all the extra bits :)

OK thanks for the advice. Do you think if on our second day I went to reception and asked for a third key cos I'd "lost" one, that would cause any issues?
You'd be easier just saying you've left your card in your room, and asking for another so you can get in :)

Obviously take ID with you though so they can confirm you're entitled to another key :)
  • Thank you for the information regarding slot tournaments.

Only been back 3 days, and already looking at flight prices for later in the year. How long has Thomas Cook allowed you to book any extra suitcase / 23 kg for £50 for the return home?

I'm not sure if they reprogramme keys when one is lost or not...but one thing to remember is that only the 2 people who are named in the room/have shown ID will be able to get a replacement if they lose their key..so if person 3 loses their key they will have to be with someone else to get in...probably limited risk for most people but worth considering.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We booked flights several weeks ago (start of May was when we first seen it) and booked the extra suitcase on the return leg, they are now also giving you a standard 23Kg + 6Kg hand luggage to the US, plus food as well. Prices have gone up quite a bit since then from Glasgow, so maybe worthwhile checking regularly. Going in June 2015 and now have a year to book a hotel, ;) I do like a deal though :o

    Hello all,

Its been some time since I have posted on here - mainly because I havent been to Vegas since 2012 - its killing me!! BUT I am considering visiting in February 2016 (for my big 40) and I wondered if anyone who has visited in Feb could give me some idea of what it is like then?

I have been many times before, but always in July for WSOP (World Series of Poker) and its HOT and very, very busy - with so many poker tournaments and festivals etc.

I have seen that comparitively speaking it is quite cool and the pools may be closed? We usually stay at The Orleans.

Has anyone been at both times of year and can offer any insights? I am hoping that it may be a bit cheaper to go then versus height of british summer hols.

Any input would be most appreciated :)

yes also wondering about Feb and how warm it may be?

Found some flights with Norweigan airways for next feb at £400pp into LAX, so could do a 2 centre trip fairly easily (extra £100 for vegas flights?)

    Evening All,

We're in Vegas from 6 July to 17 August this year. We had fully intended taking weeks 2,3 and 4 as a driving tour to Arizona and Utah but the wildfires in AZ have turned us off that idea. We've now decided that we'll take a wee drive up through Death Valley onto Yosemite and then loop back round via Reno instead but that's going to leave us with a lot more time in Vegas at the back end of the road trip than we had planned.

    Two questions therefore:

    1. When we get back to Vegas, is it worth keeping the car for any out of the way attractions? We've been looking at Pahrump, Laughlin and Valley of Fire as potential day trips but there may well be restaurants or other attractions worth considering. We can keep the car as long as we fancy but will probably look to have it for maybe 4-5 days max upon our return as we normally get around fine on foot or using the buses.

    2. Now that we'll be back in Vegas for the better part of 4 weeks at the end of the trip (roughly 23/07/14 - 16/08/14) are we better looking to avoid hotels and go for an apartment type deal instead? We've always stayed on the strip in one of the big hotels so this would be a complete departure but having a space to cook in and a fridge/freezer to guarantee ice cold drinks all the time would be two significant benefits. Any recommendations and guidance would be massively appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Billy
