    Good Morning Everyone

Welcome a wee sunny morning up here - makes a change - so taking advantage of it and putting the washing outside - makes such a difference, house doesn't look like a chinese laundry.

Ok done some more on my wee stitch book - 4 more pages last night - so here they are

    Upright Cross Stitch

    Smyrna Cross Stitch

    Rice Stitch

    Diamond Eyelet Stitch
    100_1217_zpsc29cec52.jpg

Didn't think the diamond eyelet was all going to fit - been doing them all free hand - just looking at the instructions I have for the learning sampler. Think I will leave the grid lines in - think it helps.

    Keep well everyone

    sweetcarer ;)

PS Not far away at all Greentiger.

mrs-moneypenny, tigers are my favourite animals, so you were on a winner with me right away! The cushion shows off your work beautifully.

Maisie M, maybe I'm asking a daft question - how do you make cards from terracotta pots?

sweetcarer - your stitch book is a clever idea. I'm in Banton, just on the other side of Kilsyth from you.

The terracotta pots are embellishments I bought years ago. They are quite small but I loved them so bought two packs. Then I kept them for 'good' but trying to de-stash so decided to use them up as they are no good sitting in the cupboard!

i cant claim the pencil cases they were made by the lovely florenceem.

greentiger, the terracotta pots that Masie used are kind of like little buttons in the shpe of a flower pot that you sew or stick on the cards with flowers above them, so it adds a 3D effect to the card.
    edit
just seen masie has alredy explained this in the above post.

hope everyone had a good weekend
finished the tulip cross stitch i was working on
and started a cardi using some wool ive had for ages

bought fabric to make another dress and some more haberdashery bits - didnt want to add to my stash but these are things id run out of so i NEEDED them honest.

    Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker
Not been on for a couple of days, but have just had a quick catch up. Was doing OK with my scarf, then my hand slipped and 4 stitches fell off. Well being a novice I had no idea how to sort them back on, so I am now having to begin again  :(
I will try again though and hopefully do better & finish it this time. Seen a lovely picture frame jewellery holder I would like to make, one for earrings and another for necklaces which looked reasonably easy & will make for myself - will update my list.

florenceem - pencil cases look lovely. Can I ask how you made your tea towels?

The crafts I have seen you all posting are fantastic and in the Flickr group there are such wonderful items you have all made. Really insipires me to keep trying and get better, thank you :)

Re tea towels - bought ones which I washed and pressed. I used washed/pressed cotton sheet pieces for the stitchery. Found the vintage kitchen items designs online. Traced the design on to the sheet after ironing interfacing on to back. Stitched with a back stitch using 2 strands of embroidery thread. Then trimmed edges of stitched piece - turned under and stitched on to tea towel. Pressed again - can you see - I have a thing for pressing?
