Long-term No Buys: print books, make-up, art/craft items
Lost 8 of the 20lbs I need to shed:D0 -
OKso my revised list of projects is:
2 - a scarf for my sister - this is filled with dropped stitches (and ones picked up from nowhere!!), but I have never knitted before, and I promised her the first one... currently UFO not anymore, and about half finished this is a work in progress, and is still ongoing, although it is slow moving, I'm kind of secretly hoping I'll get it done by the end of the month...
3- a scarf kit that my sil bought for me for Christmas... not started, but I will do as soon as I have finished item 1. Completed and will be given to my sister as the first is not fit for wearing...
4- A valentines card for my OH... Anniversary card sorted, valentines card also sorted... Moved on to Chrimbo cards as well as a few straggling birthdays
5- an advent calendar, I plan to make and decorate pockets in leather as I have masses cluttering up the spare room. for this any ideas or inspiration welcome, as I only have 6 ideas so far, and need 24... Completed. Just need to get the gifts for it now...
6- mini Christmas cross-stitch - this will decorate one of the advent pockets, but I will need some drive to get this done, as it's not my favourite craft... it is however over half done and tiny, so I hold out hopes that it will get done... hahaha finished, and used in the advent calendar...
7- need to make a pouch for my partners fishing knife, which he got for Christmas - he has now lost the knife in the move and as it has him name on is convinced someone is trying to frame him for a crime yet to be committed... I say if he used half as much energy on emptying boxes as he is fretting he'd have found it by now...
8- A new purse - as mine has a dodgy zipper... sorted, and pics uploaded...
Next on the agenda
As we moved so too did my priorities -
Focus one paint the dresser. I will need to buy wax eventually - but not till I've at least sanded it... If the top can be waxed it will be - if not will need varnish...
Then the table and chairs paint and reupholster - need advice re: taking the backs out of the chairs as I don't know if it can be done... (need to find camera so I can take pics)....
Cover the craft room chair.
Craft room sort out - I have moved so it is a priority to get this amongst other stuff sorted... (Most important thing is to get rid of the shoes in the room as this will allow me to move stuff to where it needs to be)... This was an old project - and I now have a desk - well a Formica table but am going to keep the Singer beast for a bit as I have so much leather knocking about and my domestic machine won't sew that...
Christmas cards - as these have been started and are taking up space in my front room... actually completed 8 tonight
Bottle the sloe poke gin... and design labels as well. We set off a gallon of cherry brandy with cherries liberated from my Step fathers golf club last night. He's normally very anti picking any fruit on common land even so he'll get a bottle of that as he showed us where they were... (he was going to show us a footpath to other cherries but the golf course has obviously blocked off the path so he got mad) hahaha...
Curtains for the craft room - refashioning old ones if they come up clean again...
Embroidering the table cloth I found at an antiques market... I don't know how much of each color thread to buy - was just going to use bits I already had - but I think I will run out and am eager to not have it looking all mis-mashed as it will be lovely if done right...
