Hi Girls,
Another band done (no. 10) done in the twisted band sampler - this contained satin stitch, rhodes stitch and the new one - tied windmill.
So here is (mostly) all together
as I done a new stitch in this - a new addition to my wee stitch book
tied windmill
Better get on with my learning sampler - bit behind with it (due to doing baby stitch and engagement stitch) - having trouble with queens stitch - asked the designer for advice but its because of the material I am using - so have decided to do a version of queens - or ½ queens as I am calling them - will post picture later.
Kind wishes to all

Afternoon everyone
I found this thread this afternoon and have spent a couple of hours looking through it. What a lovely thread which I must subscribe to. I love crafting and mainly do dressmaking, cross stitch and leatherwork but will have a go at most things to see what I enjoy. I look forward to seeing more of your makes and hopefully showing off some of mine.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

everyone's been busy making lovely things. I'm in a "resting" phase - just don't have inclination at the mo to do anything at all
BUT - yesterday I found something for next year's challenge (I'm already assuming there will be one), so I can't have lost my mojo completely.
Here it is (sorry about light reflection):A Catte by r.doctor, on Flickr
I found it in a charity shop. It's brand new and cost £8! Haven't done this kind of thing in years. I'll have to search the loft for my frame - hopefully I'll find it by 2015!Sewing 88/COLOR]Woollies 19Card s 91Reading 37/400 -
Everyone has been hard at work I see! I've had a busy year at work and we are moving our lab (doing cancer research) into a new location. It's a pain.
However, I have managed to make a bit of progress with some of my projects and I will try really hard to get the others completed soon!
Here is my updated list:
1. DONE: Knitted pigs, made using my own pattern– (started on New Year's Day).
2. DONE: Invent original knitted animals:
Squirrel (sent one to Woollen Woods in Cumbria- Canopy project).
Horse – made in August. Making more pigs and aiming for some sheep.
3. Partly done: Complete my hand-knitted jumper (based on another jumper but made without using a pattern). Just needs sewing up.
4. Needle felting – I have the equipment, need to learn how to do it. Not done yet.
5. DONE: Knit a swatch for a huge scarf to send to Wool Against Weapons, for the 7 mile long scarf against Trident stretching from Aldermaston to Burghfield. This happened on 9th August and my 1 metre of pink was added to the scarf.
6. Partly done: Paper models (I made some paper boxes for Easter)
7. Partly done: Photo albums. I scanned all the family photos, haven't assembled anything yet.
8. Partly done: Family tree.
Have a draft document of my ancestors' professions and occupations from census records, which will be illustrated.
9. Try to create a work of art, using materials. Not done yet.
10. Improve my headboard on my bed.
This needs some thought, material to be bought. Will ask Dad.
The following will be done in November and December:
11. Make an Advent calendar (in paper).
12. Use felt and sewing to make decorations - probably for Christmas, to give as gifts and sell for charity.
13. Make Christmas cards (don’t know how yet, maybe using photos). Make out of old Christmas cards.
14. Knit an advent garland – make one small item for every day of Advent.
Another item added (this may be an item in place of one above which doesn't happen):
Complete my illustrated children’s story book containing knitting patterns. First draft was self-published already several years ago and had some feedback from some kids I know.
I will put up more photos soon.
Thanks for the inspiration everyone!0 -
Nope guess that didn't work! Not to worry I shall just continue updating the flikr group!
Beautiful work and the photos idea is very touching
The links work as links but if you want the pics in your post it is the BBCode you need to copy and paste not the HTML.
It took me a while to get it work but once it did I was fine0 -

You've done some brilliant work this year so why worry about taking a breather?
Great charity shop find and lovely design. Good luck with finding the frame.
If we do this again will we have to have 15 projects in 20150 -

Great progress
The children's story book with knitting patterns sounds like a brilliant idea0
