The 3Vs identify themselves as Visa Credit cards according to the video and you generally cannot use another credit card to make a payment towards a credit card apart from doing a balance transfer and I doubt the 3V cards will allow a balance transfer
  • 3 minutes into the video I lost the will to live. I guess my petrol will stay at the regular rate.

You beauty! I'll be getting that card when it's available again.

    Happy moneysaving all.

Don't forget, it works with any other cashback card too, and even paying cash works, but the gain won't be quite as great.

I guess it would also work with the Lloyds/Halifax "Everyday Offers" 10% cashback at Morrisons for the non-petrol-station bit.

    Q. Can we vote this thread/poster for an MSE Forums Thread Award Prize of some sort?

eg. "Thread of the Month" or whatever?

And I'd happily accept such an award if one exists... or maybe a link to the video in Martin's weekly email... ;)

Dont you get a better discount by paying your gas/leb bill by direct debit?Good saving though.Shame my nearest morrisons petrol station is over 10 miles away.If you can get on the Shopandscan petrol panel as well they pay you £2.50 per month in vouchers for stating how much you put in your tank and how much it costs each time tyou fill up.

Yes, you usually get a direct debit discount. You just call them up and set your direct debit to £1 a month, then pay the remaining majority using this system.

Just be warned that on one hand 3V restricted the card usage towards the end of November so you are no longer able to pay for government services such as council tax; on the other, using many different credit cards to pay for one account raises eyebrow for many retailers and they will refuse the payments as a security/fraud prevention measure (Sky is an example).

  • Very true, Johnk. Best to try with one 3V card first to check it works with your intended supplier. That way, if worst comes to worst, you can use it at Amazon or something.

You have to meet him and get a photo with him! I was on his Money Show in the Spring and spent the day filming with him in London - he really is a top guy!
