One other tip, I go about a centimetre below the minimum level or there is too much for two people. Lovely on a Saturday with the soup maker and the bread maker going
Sounds lovely , if you buy some red lentils, sprinkle half a cupful in and that will also thicken it lovely.:)0 -

Just saw this lovely depression analogy on fb:
So there's this guy walking down the street and he falls into a great big hole. A doctor walks by and the guy yells up to the doctor 'hey, I fell in this hole, can you help me out?' The doctor writes a prescription, throws it into the hole, and walks on.
A priest then walks by and the guy yells up to the priest 'father, can you help me? I fell into this hole and I can't get out'. The priest says a prayer, throws down a Bible and walks on.
And then a friend of the guy walks by and the guy yells up 'hey, buddy, I'm stuck in this hole and -' and before he can finish the friend jumps down into the hole.
'What the hell are you doing?' the guy says, 'Now we're both down here!'
'Yup', says the friend, 'But I've been down here before and I know the way out.'May: Make £5 a day £115.38 / £155

Thanks, I do have pans and (several
) blenders, but I like the idea of throwing all the veg in and 20 mins later you have smooth soup. They get mostly great reviews but I am trying to resist, honestly ..... I keep visualising myself as a soup-making, jogging-going,healthy-living superwoman. The reality is likely to be somewhat different - a chocolate-eating, wine-slurping, well-meaning couch-potato (who owns a dusty soupmaker :rotfl:)
£40-odd quid gets you a lot of ingredients to make the soups; or some recipe books if you're stuck for ideas.
I just use the pan-and-blender method to make all my own soups (stick blender for chunky, food processor for smooth). Coincidentally, last night I made some spicy pumpkin soup - easy to make, very cheap, and loads left over to batch-freeze.
There's some good soup recipe ideas on the Girl Called Jack website
http://agirlcalledjack.com/?s=soup&submit=Search
and cheap too - most around 20p-25p a portion or less.'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'
