Royal Mail - Pointless rant

The increase of parcels in our office is far greater than to just say "a growth market" when the emphasis has been on a drop in mail. I have had numerous conversations with customers who have mentioned mail levels dropping - that is the public perception, as shown in post 4 of this thread.0

Must say I've been fairly impressed around here with turnaround on letters. Received a card from family in Sweden. Card posted in Sweden on Tuesday, received here on Friday.
Everything I've ordered online lately, first class has taken usually 1, but max 2 days, and second class has been 2-4 days.
Even had a parcel turn up from Hong Kong that I wasn't expecting until January.
Only mail that took ages was a card from Florida, posted 29/11 received 19/12!0 -

and whats your point?
letters are dropping, packets are rising. So revisions need to be done with this in mind
Your office will be no different than many others in the country
The figures are no secret. Your office will get the national figures 6 days a week.
The public perception is pretty much moot0 -
My point was to answer the final paragraph of post 4 of this thread, and that is why my first reply is at post 5.
Why you decided to misread most of what I have posted, had a couple of digs at me and are now advising me on what is going on in my office I have no idea. I am sure the OP isn't remotely interested in revisions, they merely questioned the volume of mail and I answered that.
I have often read threads on here where someone meanders off the original point for no reason and it is why I rarely post now, thanks for reinforcing my opinion.0 -

You do realise it's possible for other people to talk about Royal Mail without you repeatedly posting to tell them how everything they know is wrong?
Even when you actually say exactly the same thing they did, you still have to try and prove how you know so much more than them.0 -

Lol,and what's wrong?
Joe public doest give a toss what happens(unless it affects them)
The OP is referring to letter traffic
under USO,then delivery office should meeting point to point on letter traffic.
packet traffic adds to the workload, however the USO stands0 -
One was posted 1st class (postmarked 11th December) arrived 18th
Another cheque was posted 17th 1st class has still not arrived but my credit card statement which was posted 19th December arrives this morning - it's just not fair!
It is possible that credit card companies do not "post" their mail. Their volume is probably such that they do their own sorting and bagging to maximize discounts. Therefore all that needs to happen is for the Royal Mail to lift some bags that can bypass much of their "normal" mail procedure.35, semi retired, sun, sand, sea, life is good
When you are done moaning remember that there are people who would love to have your standard of living!0 -
I wish my checks would take that long to arrive

Just got today's delivery and no sign of expected cheque, if the sender was being honest then that would be one week today since it was posted. I will report back when (if) it arrives and confirm the date on the postmark - if it is as suggested then surely over a week to deliver a first class letter less than 20 miles isn't really acceptable0 -

distance doesnt really matter
local mail sorting doesnt really happen
so its collection>hub>mail centre>delivery office
At Xmas you also have overflow offices for the mail centres when they have no space0 -
