MAG DALIES -- IDEA to cut down clutter

It is quite clear after many months that the majority of the new competitions posted on a Tuesday in IPC magazines are the same prize spread across the magazines, same question and same answer.
It is daft having seven different posts for the same prize.
Apart from it adding even more posts onto an already busy main board.
Just wish the powers that be would sort it out with adequate consultation with all the users...0 -

What I would like though, is maybe when it is 1 prize and 6 mags offering that 1 prize then 1 thread is made with a link to each of the mags.
But like everyone else, this is just my opinion on how I'd like to see the daily Mags posted
I'm with you on this one, I gave up on them when they were in the mag thread and think they should be on the main board.
Having the same prize in one thread would mean less clutter and make them easier to enter
Hopefully when the BG's have time a compromise can be foundA strong man stands up for himself, a stronger man stands up for others.0 -
I agree with many of the points raised here and in other threads relating to this subject.
Obviously we can't please every single FM and also we can't have everything just tailored to our own personal wants.
However logic and reason tell me that it shouldn't be putting anybody out, if the following were to happen:
1. Every mag daily comp were to be posted on the main board BUT if the same comp is running on multiple mags, these should all be listed in the same post.
2. The mag daily thread should revert to how it was before December, with direct links to the mags and not to the main board.
I can't see how either of the above points could upset anybody or put anybody out, nobody would miss out on a competition any more due to not visiting the mag thread, BUT those who like doing the mag dailies could have things easier and quicker. As I have previously mentioned, going direct to the magazines *could* mean missing out on comps that are not listed in the normal prize draws, which was what led to the whole shenanigan here. The list on the mag thread meant that we didn't miss out.
Anybody with me??0 -
So I deduce from this that you don't use the mag thread itself - in which case, you probably don't share our frustration. My issue is not in the fact that the comps are once again posted on the main board, that doesn't really bother me either way. My annoyance is that the links on the mag thread are to the main board thread and THEN to the magazine, whereas before they went directly to the mags. It's really cumbersome and time consuming the way it is now and I'd welcome a return of the direct links.
I agree and more importantly it must be a bigger pain for those who post the comps for us.
I don't see why posters should have to put in more effort just because some people can't be bothered to use the Mag Daily thread.0 -
Totally agree with Cagsd's proposal. Would seem to capture the best of all worlds as far as is possible.0

Totally agree with Cagsd too, can't see how that could upset anyone.0

Also completely agree with cagsd; it must satisfy 99% of people (you can never please everyone!).1. Every mag daily comp were to be posted on the main board BUT if the same comp is running on multiple mags, these should all be listed in the same post.
This would solve (cut down on) the problem of clutter on the main board, but still allow everyone to see all the comps and enter once/bookmark if they choose. A lot of people don't have time to go through all the tick boxes required to enter these comps, and just want a quick way to red-cross them as they work through the main board.2. The mag daily thread should revert to how it was before December, with direct links to the mags and not to the main board.
And this would allow those who prefer to work from the mag daily thread to use it efficiently. It was SOOO much better with the direct links!0 -
Sorry Cagsd I don't agree at all...
Not really - I vote with Cagsd too. It just didn't feel right having this subject discussed without adding a little angst
What Cagsd suggests does sound like the best all-round solution, and lovely to see us mainly agreeing for once.
