Rufus - Hope your arm feels better soon,
Susan - wow sounds like hubbie has spolit you, bless him, hope your all ok.
Mrs MoneyPenny - Sounds like a productive time with the cross stitching, I've just had the knitting bug, - done 3 lilac shawls as well ready for Xmas presents, next knitting job - going to tackle a aran cardi or jumper for myself..
Thou trying that weird ruffle wool found some cheap on ebay £1.50 for 50g, they say you need 2 for a scarf, seen similar in my local wool shop for £6 a ball. So weird to knit with, its like a dish cloth. It looks like when its got a few ruffles, but there going straight into the Xmas box.
Give you all a laugh, booked a Sun break, (got 2) one for Blackpool, and as mum cant get around blackpool, and dad wont drive into blackpool as site 5 miles from town, didnt bother paying £14 for linen hire - just me and Miss Hoodie chuck quilts and sheets in - what a lovely idea to put them on the booking (got to pay for min of 4 people so might was well put them on in case Haven feel generous and want to upgrade us - ok i can dream....)...... what a lovely idea, how nice of me to do it so we all get a break b4 Miss Hoodie and me go away... Mums decided that Dad will drive us up to the top of site for bus stop, pick up up.... That after they would never go again.....
Nice surprise - knew I needed to get a Visa for Goa - just getting it sorted this week and its £208 for the visa - but we can go back anytime within 6 months and not have to pay again!!!
Sold a pr of curtains on ebay - new got £8 got them, very pleased, - thou they had a price tag £19.99 (I'd paid £5 in sale) - they were one of the hidden treasures in the airing cupboard... xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
A quick trip into town certainly was an expensive one!!
£16 for photos for Visa for holiday (for me and Miss Hoodie)
£50 for new printer - the other was playing up, it was either spend £35 on new ink and take a chance - but figured mse would be new printer.
£1 shop.. (£17) but £5 of that was the bras for Miss Hoodie bless her there the only ones she likes for school, - but have to say the sizes are small, 2 balls of black wool ready to knit shawl for xmas, - £10 on odds and sods - but 1st time in £1shop since end of Dec, so v pleased.
Bless her Miss Hoodie took me to KFC, - (she wanted to spend her compo money from the bank on both of us). Bless her she has a heart of gold. xxxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
moneypenny - my ebay listing went ok, but now I have to wait until next month as my 100 items this month has been used up. DS had a sale while I was away!! Roll on free listing day lol. Glad you got your xstitch bug back, I`ve lost my mojo, so if anyone finds it please kick it back over to me
rufus - ouch what are you doing, it sounds nasty, hope you get better soon. Material sounds ace. Cant wait to see what you do with it.
mum2one - aww well done Miss Hoodie, I suggest she keeps saving I'm over that way in August, if I see you in KFC I expect a treat mind lol
Wow that ink expensive, I would have gone with a new printer too. Im off to pound shop tomorrow with OH so not sure how much that'll cost
I been trying to decoupage a coffee table great fun with glue and backing papers but I'm not sure what the end product will be like. I`ll keep going though, I like the mess
Anyone seen any strawberry and cream lindt on offer anywhere? I have to buy 8 boxes for easter sweet trees, I don't know where my kidsd get their expensive tastes fromChallenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
I'd like to see the table when its done Susan. I have bought some comics on ebay for decoupaging the shoes, have the glue on order, got the varnish. Just need the shoes haha. I asked the girls and they didn't have any "old" pairs they wanted to throw my way so I am going to have to search round the charity shops for some in their sizes and some hand bags that are quite stiff too to do as well to go with them.
Arm is getting better, grandson came round today and re-dressed it for me, done a good job too. Looks like its healing nicely, still very red blotches on the skin but should be ok to leave it free by the weekend.
Going to get on with sewing next week when the Olympics have finished0 -
Your dd sounds like a gem. My ds has got into a wee bit of trouble with his landlord. Not his fault at all (flattie left december with no forwarding addie, we are responsible for all the rent till a new flattie is found, we didnt find out they hadnt secured the 2 months notice rent till friday and they're now trying to screw us also for fines and 10% interest!) and dd2 has offered to pay half out of her allowance and he's offered to live at home to save money. It is now in the hands of my solicitor (panic not fellow mseers, father of dd2 who is doing a freebie and will be rewarded with a very tasty bottle of whisky) so i know exactly the tear it brings to your eye.
After my travels i am now back to knitting dr who blanket for dd2. Now on 4th cyberman square and have to say very happy with it so far ( and all from my wool stash) lovely to hear everyone's news. Good you're on the road to recovery rufusdog your ds sales made me smile susan42 as mum2one knows i'm on the 14crafts thread and lots of crossstitch is mentioned there. Might add a (small and easy!) one to my list mrsmoneypennyMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Well I went to the pound shop and spent ......£1 I think I'm disillusioned with them at the moment. I haven't been in for weeks and everything is in exactly the same place and no new lines.
Dundee Doll - that's atrocious I dont know how these landlords get away with it. Well done DD2 on helping out and hope it gets resolved quickly
I like cross stitch and I`m on the use your stash thread, was going well until I lost my mojo, now its come to an abrupt halt. I have had a cross stitch nearly 2 years, sorted the threads out and thats about it
AAAArrrrggg just remembered why I went out today , to get some vanish for my decoupage coffee table.... I even wrote it on a list
Glad your arm a bit better Rufus, and the shoes sound intriguing.
I did see some of those thick wood bracelets in the £1 shop, but I`m sure they are cheaper somewhereChallenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -
Fun here - its school holidays and Miss Hoodie is poorly - did well rang the GP surgery and they had a cancellation within the hr!
Shes got chest infection, ear infection, high temp - now on antibiotics, pracetamol and calpol.
Susan -totlly agree re £1shops, I spent £17 yesterday (£2 wool, £5 bras, £10 food and drink) but there was nothing exicting - and a lot of the stuff is getting smaller - esp Wagon Wheels they use to be massive
Having fun and games trying to get the Visa for holidays - now having to get a solicitors letter to prove I am a single parent, and her father has no responsibility for her........ Feels like a flipping roller coaster trying to get sorted - at mo were stuck on the loop! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Reminds me of a song - small wheels on my wagon and i'm still rolling along...
4th cyberman square knitted and only 15g of lilac left (a square took 20g) so time to move onto next colour and k9s.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
