Thank you all for the warm welcome!
So glad that you liked the links, I keep them all in a list so that when I find a good idea I have the link ready and waiting for me and don't have to search for it!
DunDeeDoll - for the advent calendars I'm planning to buy 25 small gifts. Some free, eg the free gifts I get form magazine subscription like make up. I'm buying and splitting multi packs of nail varnishes. Some will be cheap little things like Cadbury stars (wishes) and then some little stationary gifts (got some cracking bits in wilkinsons like tiny note pads). A, going to wrap and number them and out them in a nice material gift bag.
Mum2one - the extract looks yummy and I'm so glad someone's actually tasted it! We also had snow today, stuck for 5 minutes but then had hail/sleet which washed it away, manchester was looking pretty white when I left to come home though.
Rufusdog52 - great idea about the shoes! My DS loves marvel. We decopage a child's table and chairs set from ikea for him last Xmas. All with marvel comics. Looks fab and he loves it. You could also try nice napkins for decopage, you can get some lovely ones with vintage style prints in which may look nice. I'm still trying to source wooden bracelets. Went to The range and they had lovely wooden boxes for decopage.
Mrs-money penny - lovely cards. I went home made for my oH. Drew round my hand and then stuck hearts in the middle, some paper some diamant! and then wrote in nice handwriting "my heart is in your hands" on it. We've been together nearly a decade so it's a bit smushy for us really, but I was pleased with it.
We're also trying to save some cash for next week. We're off on holiday to a lodge with a hot tub (hard saved for and a bargain in the hoseasons sale). Planning in using our merlin passes to go to blackpool and then do a free museums and castles. I can't wait!!! OH working 6 days weeks and I'm at work 7.30-7 so barely seeing the kids at the moment, planning in taking monopoly and trivial persuit for some proper family time.
Hope everyone's ok and not been effected by this dreadful flooding.

rufusdog52 wrote: »Hi Milly That video for the decoupaged bracelet was good. I have been eyeing up decoupaged shoes. I have ordered some mod podge to try it out, just need to find some shoes. Thinking of doing a pair each for my two daughters. One would like Marvel comics, that kind of thing, and other one not sure but would like something whacky, may be newspapers, or might just look for some pretty tissue paper and use that. Going to see if either of them have any shoes they don't wear anymore that they are going to throw out, need a good excuse to get them to give them to me, at least I know they would fit them then. I would do them for their birthday.
These would work great for the shoes, loads of other designs too (but I seriously love butterfly's!)

Hi everyone
Hello Millysunflower, that name makes me think of nice warm days and childhood holidays.
Thanks for all the links (hours of fun on there) and telling us about your family.
It's a coincidence you are also making advent calendar gifts as a few others have mentioned it too just lately.
Thanks DundeeDoll for solving the mystery about the work overseas. I'm glad you've made a lot of progress with your ability to move your arms.
mum2one, re your airing cupboard finds - do you normally keep wool in there? Re an earlier post, is Miss H looking forwards to getting new clothes? Does she normally tell you what she wants?
I went out with DS Friday and Saturday it was eventful.Glad I've cut down the amount of times I go out. It's really getting on my nerves that I can't go anywhere without hassle.
My tv aerial was blown down by the wind at the weekend, so hopefully that will be sorted later this week.
I'm supposed to be accompanying a young friend to an appt tomorrow and hopefully breaking my travel phobia. She's calling to confirm soon.
Today I spent about an hour in WH Smiths, looking around at books and mags for myself, didn't find anything and suddenly remembered the children's section, saw some really interesting things that appealed to the inner child in me, then at the last moment suddenly spotted a potential Christmas pressie for DS and bought it. I might return another day and get something for myself.
Because of I was busy since DS arrived on Thursday, I haven't set myself any challenges this week. And I've noticed the difference, I felt a lack of direction and interest.
I like the cards Mrs M, hope you get a nice one too, and the shoes idea Rufus.0 -

The one set we've had 3 yrs it must worked its way to the back... usually have couple balls of DK in hand, but this was a surprise.. Miss Hoodie and clothes shopping - she hates it - given a choice she would live in leggings and tshirt - if you asked her to wear a dress... hell would freeze over... but she needs some shorts and summer tops for hol

I should come down to you and belly flop the ones that get in the way! you should have a do not disturb sign...

Lovely cards msrm
Hope your aerial gets fixed ok angela still haven't got ours fixed so we have to watch everything on iplayer or stvplayer d'oh. Note to self - get house sorted!!!
lol re. mum2one's airing cupboard sort. We sorted ours last xmas (when I was attempting to remend a non-mendable marriage) - honestly it was like the tardis! so much easier to use now and haven't missed a single thing we recycled (either via CS or recycle centre depending on quality).
Sitting in the library kicking myself. DS bought me a thermos for xmas. Did I bring it? No. So had to fork out £1.20 for a cuppa. Will get better at this OS business...MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Hi Susan, I am still here, been feeling sorry for myself as burned my arm the other night on a bowl of soup of all things lol. Ended up in A&E for the evening. Arm is still bandaged up at the moment, means sewing is on hold for a bit longer, I am determined to get some done before the end of the month.
I bought some lovely fabric ready for sewing, its got characters on it like batman etc, its stretchy like t-shirt material so thinking I might make YD a top or something to put away for her birthday, might make myself one too lol if there is enough of it, thinking may be vest top or something that doesn't use too much fabric.0 -
