    Hi all

Rufus - so lovely to see you back :) I really hope everything sorts itself out for you at home finance wise and also your health. I bet you feel really happy now that you can buy more at the shops as you've got a trolley. Of course this means you could end up spending more lol

Susan - sorry to hear you are stilll not that much better. I hope that doing some crafting will keep your mind positive.

Mrs M - I got thinking about your post where you mentioned your DD's partners children and wondered about how times have changed with live in partners etc compared to when I was younger or maybe I wasn't aware of those things back then. It's lovely how thoughtful you are about the presents.

Mum2one, you nearly freaked me out when I read you have now got 2 diaries on the go - you know I only just managed to get mine sorted lol

Lina, I had a go at the free card pack but got into a dreadful muddle so giving that up for the time being.

Saturday was a mix of usual dramas with texter male friend then something unusual happened, an ex resurfaced and we had a rather surreal time Saturday night. He asked if I wanted a take away and to see his new flat. I agreed. But as I'd just eaten lunch out said I'd only have a few spring rolls. However ...........in the Chinese he was ordering nearly everything off the menu. I kept butting in and saying 'only spring rolls for me' so he kept ordering more spring rolls in between other things. As he was paying the bill he was shocked it came to £43 for two and I said 'I only wanted spring rolls' so he then presumed he hadn't ordered any and asked for more !!! It ended up at about £50 lol We had to go back via my house as I already had 2 bags of shopping with me and it was very slippery so had to change my shoes. He dropped the bag of Chinese, luckily the food didn't spill out. In the end, I didn't even taste any of the darn spring rolls as he froze most of the stuff, and dished out the spiciest curry imaginable instead - something I wouldn't have ever ordered for myself.

i know what you mean about how times have changed Angela, my parents split up when i was young and i got called some awful names at school (and some of it by the teachers!!!) mine was quite an unusual situation:o
You have to take the hand that life deals you and as far as im concerned, they are living with my daughter so i treat them accordingly - Its funny two of my girls are with fella who already have children and both sets of children just call us our DDs name then mum or dad which every they are talking to.

Angela- sorry to hear about the Chinese , mouth watering just thinking about it. Perhaps he does his weekly shop at the Chinese instead of the supermarket.

Here's a Q for you ladies , has anyone seen any white linen trousers about. I ordered two pairs on line from two different places one lot was £25 and the other £17.99 and the fabric is bad, see through is not the word for it . I bought nicer pairs in primarni... I think I need to see them in the flesh. But don't feel like trailing around lots of shops if they haven't any in. Ps I need white ones... Have 4 pairs of beige ones (not sure how that happened lol )

Mum2one - what you upto? Don't like it when you go quiet... Lol

    Hi all

Glad to know you are ok Mum2one, hows the tidying?

I'm having to force myself to stay home for NSD's this week until tomorrow when DS2 is back as I've got into bad habits when I socialise as I tell myself it will only be for a few hours then I'll go to Iceland on the way home. Some chance!!

I managed to spend £50 at the weekend as I took my card for food shopping but had to go to more expensive shops as I was too late for Iceland, and also used it on food/drinks for friends and I.

I do have the money to be doing this otherwise I couldn't do it, but my circumstances will be changing drastically later this year and I should be saving the money and getting some kind of income instead of wasting it.

I'm still having very bad dreams every night. Next week I am going to HAVE TO sort my finances out properly, and I'm going to remind myself on here daily to make myself do it. The dreams may be linked to a mutual friend of the 'lodger' telling me he'd seen him the day before and he's still going on about how upset he was I cancelled and friend made an alternative suggestion about the other man staying with me.

DS2 is arriving tomorrow for weekend visit. Mum is getting him a cake for Sunday, we're giving him his birthday presents (envelopes etc) this week even though his birthday is the following.

Susan, whilst going through MIL's things now she's in a care home, I found numerous white linen trousers and jackets, think one of them from Debenhams, bought years back though.

Mrs M, that must have been horrendous at school if not only the kids but teachers were saying bad things about you because of your home life.

Hope everyone doing the Boots sale is managing to grab some bargains. I didn't manage to get anything online this morning, but took a detour on the way to work to a store and picked up 3 bits for presents, most of the stuff had been ransacked.

Going to pop into my tiny local Boots pharmacy on the way home too but not holding out too much hope that anything is left.

I got a few nice bits, didnt spend much, just under a tenner. Bought myself an eye shadow set, got some of those mini straighteners, and a couple of bits for YD for her birthday, plus some gift tags that were about 20p a pack.

Our local Boots was like a carnage - I got into town at 8am, so grandad hoodie could then take Miss Hoodie to school, there was about 25 people queued outside then, so I went to McDonalds for breakfast!!

    Did get some bargains-
Cider, Beer, Lager packs - they were £2.40
Managed to get the last Santuary Spa vanity case £15,
Royal jelly gift sets £3.60 instead of £10
Sanctuary sets posh lime ones £3.60 (instead £12)
    Normal Santuary £2.40
mens sets - Bench, FCUK, and sets with Boxer shorts

It was just like out of a comedy show - there was men plonked at the end of the aisles with the shopping bags, this one lady had 12 bags and was moaning that it was 70% off and not 75%... what a disgrace it was (but she kept filling the bags)

    £105 spend... whoops...

Then popped upto the other Boots - retail park - there was about shelves left, they brought it all down to the till, - cheapest spend
2 sets of block choc for Miss Hoodie (last 2)
Playboy perfume and deordrant (free points)
Santuary Spa Nail polish (free with points)

Got home logged it onto spreadsheet and realised I needed more mens stuff, - so popped back up to main store, (12 midday), it was empty there was about 1 shelf left.

    So came home with
Heated eyelash curler sets - Minnie Mouse
    glamour set hair wand,eyeshadow
    Jelly bean set

    whoops....

But now have stuff towards Miss Hoodies birthday, my birthday more for fathers day and another present for when Miss Hoodie leaves school.

No more Xmas shopping now - see if I can get anything from holidays then we should be finished by June xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
