mum2one - fantastic bargains from B00ts - but this part made me chuckle Got home logged it onto spreadsheet and realised I needed more mens stuff, - so popped back up to main store, (12 midday), it was empty there was about 1 shelf left.
So came home with
Heated eyelash curler sets - Minnie Mouse
glamour set hair wand,eyeshadow
Jelly bean set
What part of these items was mens stuff :rotfl::rotfl:
I went to the boots sale yesterday, wasnt (hoping) expecting anything to be left. I didn't really want anything but needed a couple of other items . Left the shop £27 pounds lighter but rrp was nearly £100 so was pleased
Came home then and started researching materials for my new blog, opened due to problems with g00gle adsen$e
Its about being frugal and craft, hopefully 2014 will be a new start
I started by making some frugal cards I am a no spend stash challenge so I`ll have to economise
Had sorted out my budgeting but have just had the mail and my mortgage has come to the end of my fixed rate and has gone up £155.00  so will have to do some cut backs, ever felt you were getting nowhere?
I might try this keeping out of supermarkets thing I've`ve seen , more research needed I think;)Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0 -

I'm lethal where there is a sale.... but they have all been used in presents so save some money in the long run..
Susan - sounds like you got some bargains, I love the new site, the cards look fab.
Can't believe the mortgage has gone up by that much, can you try and fix rate again?
I have managed to get another Sun break booked, - got one in July down in Devon, so pleased as it the site we normally go on, but haven't been there for 2yrs - looking at getting b+b for a couple of ngts to make it a longer break. We've saved about £400 on the site prices.
Then got a weekend in Blackpool so Miss Hoodie be pleased, keeping that as a surprise.
Miss Hoodie has gone off to Birmingham today, there doing a Young Voices apparently today is a record breaker with the amount of children going, - due back about midngt - so think were have a grumpy tired girl tomorrow, at least nothing is planned. xxxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

oops that's my new year resolution to post regularly out of the window. I'm not sure where the time has gone.
mum2one hope misshoodie has a great day. you did well in the boots sale. I went Wednesday morning and spent quite alot but like you got alot of presents. I went to the boots on the retail park straight from dropping the boys off at school. I got there at 8.20, then found out they opened at 9:eek: So I was first in the queue. I have never been when the store first opened let alone been first in the queue. It was quite an experience:rotfl: As soon as the doors opened (which luckily was early at 8.45) everyone rushed in so being first I had to just run! A man darted in front of me, grabbed a basket and was off. It was amusing to watch. It was quite civilized but there was only one aisle and it got packed you couldn't move forwards or backwards! One woman had a go at my friend cos she wanted to get back to her trolley that she had left in the middle of the aisle with her handbag in. she kept saying it's got alot of money in it. Don't leave it unattended then:eek:
susan wow thats quite an increase in your mortgage:eek: I think our fixed rate ends in March and I am not sure what we will do as OH is now on supply teaching so not on a fixed income. I am off to have a look at your website

oh it is we love sheringham its unspoilt. weve gone every year since eldest was 2 shes 27 now. in fact the ones that have moved out still either come and stay with us that week or book another property to stay in so they can share the holiday still. eldest couldnt do a week last year so she surprised us by booking an overnight in a hotel and 'bumping into us there' after saying she couldnt come.SPC~12 ot 124

Hi all
I was laughing a lot reading about the Boots sale adventures.
I forced myself into a NSD week, which meant no socialising either - not easy on Monday I had to go to bed to stop myself. Another day I only managed it as texter friend kept changing his mind so when he finally decided to go out, it was raining heavily and I stayed home.
Thursday I discovered I'd overlooked a suitable card for DS2 so was planning to go to a few shops but managed to use a birthday card I already had and stuck a medium Dairy Milk bar that I found at home on the front, sure he'll love it. However.........what a mess the double sided tape made!!! it kept breaking off in the wrong pieces and I got left with it stuck to my fingers.
What I also did that afternoon is get mum to rescue my hair or else I'd have to stay indoors NSD days or not!
What happened is that I always cut my own hair and according to hairdressers I've sometimes allowed to take a look, they've all said it looks good. However something did go wrong last week, no idea what I did wrong, but it looked weird. I managed to deal with it somehow on Saturday when I went out but on Monday it looked horrendous. it looked as though I had accidentally cut the sides the wrong angle, so trimmed it again and made it even worse!! It wasn't just the cut, but the texture had also gone strange for the past week.
Luckily mum has made it ok again, trimmed it all round and evened it up, even the texture has gone back to normal - I'm wondering if that was down to my shampoo at home as mum gave me a sachet she found and my hair looks much better.
She also gave me 2 large bottles of conditioner as she bought them accidentally thinking they were shampoo.
Today I didn't even suggest to DS2 to go out, I didn't fancy it and he is enjoying being chilled out at home.
Hope you find the extra money you need Susan and I must say I really love your Christmas cards.
How are you doing Sugarspun?
Hope Miss Hoodie is ok when she gets back from Birmingham.0 -
Miss Hoodie had a brilliant time, they got back at 10.30, they were est at 11.30, bless her she is shattered, so I forsee a lie in in the morning...

Hit the airing cupboard 2mor... help...!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Anglea, well done on the no spend days, you did well there. I have to have these a lot now but I can't stand the thought of staying in doors so I am giving myself a little reward. Say I go out up the town to meet my daughter, then i say to her don't let me spend anything, and I keep to it if I can, then when I get home I raid the chocolate tin and treat myself to something with a nice hot chocolate. It has been working for me the last week or so although most days I have had to get a bit of shopping in so didnt work those days. I need to get out to do a bit of walking as I am still trying to lost this last stone or so on my diet.
We are having a day in today, got to go through the bills and new spreadsheet I made and get those all sorted so they are ready in our new account for next month. Also got some bits to send off for the DMP. It seems to be getting there though so fingers crossed.
I'd like to go to my dad's tomorrow and to the crem to take some flowers for my Mum as its her birthday Monday, just hoping we have enough money for petrol etc when we add everything up today.0 -
