The neighbours party lasted it 5:30am so this morning when my kids got me up at 6:30am I insisted the first thing they did was play with ds drum set and just for the hell off it I donated them my pans and wooden spoons after all it was for a good cause.

We had a great family celebration on Friday: 13 of us squeezed into our little DR for lunch and again (after present giving and receiving) for tea. My fridge is now empty! DD and her family stayed with us for 2 nights. While they went to visit her dad yesterday, DH and I went out for a walk on the Clent hills in glorious sunshine and enjoyed 3 hours of fresh air and vitamin D. It only took a few minutes to tidy the house and sort the beds after DD & co left this morning and we still have all our decorations up :) We went out for another walk today, this time to a local arboretum with a pleasant tea room ;) The change of pace has done us both good.

My resolutions for 2014 will have to include getting out in the fresh air more!

*Healing vibes* Dancemum for your father and mother. Happy birthday Lozzy I love the sound (at quite a distance) of your idea of a Birthday Dawn Chorus. Hugs Jools, good to see you back. Mumto5, if the cake involved a bottle of gin (which I rather doubt), it was my recipe, if not, it was somebody else's.

I was thinking about my goals for 2014 yesterday and wrote quite a lot down to pinpoint exactly what I want from myself for the year. I decided that I would be very specific about quite a few different things and if I achieve anything at all from the list, I will be further forward than where I am now. It should work better than a NY resolution for me.

OH has gone on his annual new year jaunt with his bestie which meant I could go and get stuff I wanted from the dreaded Tr@go M!11 on the way back from Exeter. The stuff I wanted is cheaper there than anywhere else, and it was a sale day, so 15% off. Woot!
    Better is good enough.

    Snap

Managed to get a few bits done before going to my Mum's for lunch. Took a few bits to the dump for recycling on the way and had 5 minutes tidying in the garage.

Floors are hovered and mopped and I've just changed the cats' beds.

Off to do my ironing and then I'll sort the list out for next week.

ONLY 3 DAYS LEFT TO GET THOSE IRONING BASKET'S EMPTY.

Lil_me and Embb lovely to see you too oldies back and you too Jools

    Natty how is Olliecat?

Hoping the lovely Pollybear who I miss posting will rejoin us for the New Year along with Poohbear (I remember the day we decided to sit in PoohCorner and poke sticks at everyone).

I've been missing Toots a lot this holiday but I'm sure she would be telling us to make others help us more and to get out there and enjoy life, like Soappie being 'her own leading lady'.

    Ahh Lozzy.

About to put in another wash load - the only thing with this washing is that my ironing pile has grown from nothing to quite a lot. Will wash up - again after I put in the wash. Dinner is in the oven, running late as the baby fell asleep on me while big one and I were playing a board game.
