Hi EJM,
It sounds like you're doing great! I like your idea of splitting the money between mortage OP and savings. I'm thinking of doing that atm between debt OP and savings, then the same once the debt is gone with the mortage. It must be lovely to see the numbers go down each month
Hope you have a lovely rest of your Easter xDebt remaining:
Mortgage - £117,759 (£134,600, Nov 2013)
Work overpayment and home improvement loan paid back (£19200)

I guess it must be down to psychology but whatever it is, it's working so keep it up. I think I will follow your example and put some stuff up on ebay tomorrow, I have been very slack about this. Might rummage out some books to put on amazon as well. I'm sure I have some school reference books to sell - they do very well on amazon.
Although I am not debt-free, I am doing something similar to you and saving for future expenses. Kind of have to actually, as I've closed down my only 'spending' credit card and my balance-transfer card was cut in two as soon as it arrived. It's quite a baptism of fire because this month and next are very expensive in terms of outgoings but with some adept money-shuffling, I think I will make it. I know that if I had a card available I would already have put some stuff on there 'just for the moment'.
I'm looking forward to having some savings that I don't want to break into.
Here's to a successful ebaying Easter Monday for us all. :beer:0 -

It can be more beneficial to find a local Facebook selling page and post your items there. I've just sold several items, the buyers collect and give you the cash, and no eBay fees taken for listing/postage.
Well done on keeping within your budget.
How about tackling the yukky smoking? My son gave up on NYD with the help of eCigs, and says he hasn't craved a cigarette at all. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -

That's a good point actually, I keep meaning to do that for some bigger items that are hard to post.0 -

Just a cautionary thought about selling on Facebook - all your friends and family can see what you're selling. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0

Cant believe how fast this week has gone! I've had a very busy week at work - 2 gym visits and 2 walks this week too.
Weekly budget going really well - did my shopping at two s/markets and arrived at one of them just at the right time to get a reduced joint of meat -more than half price ( straight in the freezer for one my sun lunches) and some reduced oranges, also plenty of great offers on salad and veg so well stocked up. I always keep a well stocked freezer as I like to have choice but it also helps when I want to cut the budget one week as there's always plenty in. I also got some bargain bedding plants this week worked out at 8 pound for 40 plants - I haven't put any in the ground yet as it's prob too early. Just got to keep looking after them until the weather picks up again.
Hope the weather picks up over the weekend as want to get some walks in and time in the garden.
I'm hoping to come in under budget again by tomorrow night but that all depends if I go out or not or even if I go out if I watch my spends I still might make it.
Hope anyone reading has a great weekendStarted this journey in 2013 (on a previous diary) with approx 94,000 total of morg and debt combined
