  • Not posted for a few days been a bit busy. Still on track with money saving - came in 10 pound under budget - now transferred to savings. My savings pot is building up nicely and seeing it grow is making me cut down even more as I keep wanting to add to it.

Plenty of exercise done - walking/ gym today.

Got plenty of bargains in my food shopping this week - I went to 4 different places and it paid off as got different offers and reduced items from all of them. My freezer and cupboards are well stocked and hopefully wont have to spend too much this week as I have a night out next weekend at a friends wedding and the venue bar is quite expensive.

Really enjoying the lighter nights and loving watching the garden come back to life.:)

Oh yes, it's great isn't it to see the lighter evenings and see everything coming up in the garden. My raspberries have started sprouting nicely and I see the gladioli leaves are beginning to peak through the soil too. :)

Well done on all the saving you are doing. :T

How did the friend's wedding go - hope it didn't end up costing you too much -going to weddings is such an expensive business these days.

thanks for popping in and taking an interest :) The wedding was lovely and spent very little (apart from the gift)as the hosts supplied plenty of wine so had a great time with very little spends!!! I had an outfit I bought a couple of years ago and I've only worn once so it felt like new and got a few comments how nice it looked.

  • Been quite busy last few days - had a great weekend. Ended the week 15 pound under budget so 5 went as a morg overpayment and 10 pound into my savings pot !!

Payday very soon - can't wait to see my outstanding balances go down again!

I've had plenty of exercise this weekend and today - just back from a very long walk - it was lovely weather for walking -i'm a bit tired now so wont be up late tonight. Might prepare my shopping list too - will be doing the shopping at different places again as i'm finding this is the best way to buy the best things at the lowest prices. I know it's extra petrol but i'm sure the savings I make more than cover the petrol.

  • Pay day - I've made my payments and also an additional £30 morg overpayment! My outstanding balance for everything stands at 88,065 - nice to see it reducing!

Done well with food shopping got some top quality reduced items alongside other offers. Worked my weekly budgets out until next payday and I'm aiming to come below these each week to either add to my savings pot or over pay my morg - maybe a bit of both (fingers crossed)

Good gym session tonight after work and nice walks yesterday. Looking forward to the Easter break and time off work. Got an afternoon/ night out planned for the weekend - hopefully the weather stays nice.

Cant believe i'm four months into this diary already - time flies - so glad I joined as i'm sure its keeping me focused and it's good to look back on the progress i'm making.

You are doing well and you're right about the diary - I've not long started mine but I am finding it very helpful and it's good to have the support of others. :)

I have been off work since last week and I am enjoying the time off a lot. Have a lot to get done now for the weekend, as we have a lot of family about and they need to be fed and watered. Should be fun though. :D

Will you be able to overpay on your morg once you've cleared the CC ? I don't have much of a pension and I'm thinking of taking it in few years (when I'm allowed ) and the new rules are in allowing me to - so that I can pay it off my morg - I know I'll probably lose a bit of money doing this but I just want the morg over with - I will then save as much as poss for retirement.

Had a lovely weekend so far and one more day to go yay! - great day/ night out yesterday drinks and a nice meal - didn't spend as much as I'd expected so I've been able to split the change between my savings pot and morg overpayment - not much but it's there!. Nice walk today - had to get wrapped up as weather not too good. Going to list some items on ebay tomorrow - I've got a project I want to do in the house so going to try and earn some money towards it rather than dipping into my savings pot - it's the first time in my life I've had savings and I so don't want to break into them! it's weird how that now I have the money I don't want to spend it but when I didn't I wouldn't have thought twice about putting it on a credit card.
Also made a small donation to the Trussell Trust Foodbanks today after reading about the horrendous article in a certain scummy newspaper.
