  • Quick update - lovely weather here today which motivated me to tick quite a lot off the to do list - had a 2 hour walk, gym session, garden chores, cleared my work bag out (this is no easy job) went to family for lunch. The only thing I didn't do was ebay - I must transfer it to next weeks to do list !!

Worked my finances out for next weekend as it's pay day - looking forward to paying the cc's / morg and seeing the balance go down.

also started a food shopping list for this week - I have another 3 pound off 20 again!! - I don't actually need that much but I will use it to stock up on offers perhaps tea bags? not sure yet ?

Having an early night tonight as the exercise has really wiped me out

  • Busy couple of days - on count down to pay day. Had a bit of a glitch today which I am mad with myself about - I forgot lunch and ended up spending 6 pound - aaagh so very very mad - I will still be in budget but that's not the point I would have rather added it to my savings fund - ah well never mind I've given myself a good telling off!

Done plenty of exercise Mon - Gym - today - walked.

Shopping tomorrow - need to stick to the 20 budget (and use the 3 pound voucher) I have a list

6 pounds for lunch was a lot - is there not a supermarket nearby where you could have got yourself a meal deal? Having said that, I've spent 5 or 6 quid on a supermarket lunch because I'm inclined to buy smoked salmon and olives when I throw caution to the wind.

Good luck with shopping tomorrow. I find sticking to a list very difficult but now I do my main shop in Lidl, the checkout bill is always pleasantly low. An overspend in Lidl means an extra fiver on the bill, not an extra 30 quid as it used to be in Sainsbury's. :o

oh how I wish it had been something as nice as smoked salmon and olives - it was a blxxdy burger and chips from B King! - I haven't had one in years cannot understand why I had the craving for one - anyway it made me realise they are not as nice as on they look on the pics ha

  • Did well on the food shop - I had to do a bit of a sprint at the till as the bill came to 19 89 so ran for another item (toilet rolls of all things) to take it over the 20 mark - with the 3 pound coupon and another couple of money off coupons the shopping came in at 16.79!! well pleased about that:j
have done a gym session today and then baked buns tonight - defeats the object a bit but I did use sweetener instead of sugar :) and they are very nice

Good work on the shopping - whenever I have to spend a certain amount, I always go way over the top and spend way too much.

    The buns sound nice. :)
  • I didn't use to be very good at sticking to the food budget but if I don't it means I have to take it out of my own treat/socialising spends so it makes me determined not to go over:)

  • Had a nice day - finished work early and went shopping with a relative - I bought a top for my hols (out of my monthly clothing allowance) good quality and great price.

Done a bit of tidying up in the garden - more to do at the weekend

Worked out my monthly/ weekly budget as it's pay day tomorrow !! Will update morg/ debt figures after payments but think I will owe around 78400 in total ?

Caught up reading diaries on here and morg free forum - nice to see people doing well and it's good to know I'm not alone

Some friends are going away this weekend - I did get invited but turned it down as it's not a cheap trip and my new money saving lifestyle couldn't justify the spend. A few years ago I would have put it on the credit card and gone without a second thought about how i would pay for it - but times have changed, I have changed and it feels good to say no sometimes !

  • Pay day today !! my morg payment doesn't come out until Monday due to the weekend so i'll update figures then.

Really enjoyed the lovely spring sunshine today - managed an hour in the garden before it went dark - can't wait for the light nights and to be able to spend evenings outdoors.

No spends today - just money transfers into the monthly bills and savings account.

Looking forward to plenty of exercise this weekend, meeting up with family and friends and I must must must try and do some ebaying !!

Oh me too, I can't wait to be able to maybe get an hour's gardening done of an evening. Or go for a nice walk and watch the sun go down. :)

It's been nice the last week or two actually getting home from work in daylight, such a treat. :)
