  • 70 budget again for this week - the week started Sunday and I have spent 15 so far - done really well on weekly shop - still need a couple of things but got the bulk of it for 12.79 - five bags of shopping which included some great reduced items -(bread, fruit / veg including 35p for large bag of potatoes! )and some good offers to use coupons on too, which doesn't usually happen e.g. got a well known brand of Indian curry mix sauce was on offer for 1 pound and I had a 60p coupon so it cost me 40p. Few things for the freezer too and loads of salad. I'm well pleased.

so I have 55 pound to last until sat - which is more than plenty to enable another morg overpayment and savings.

Not much exercise done so far this week, my mojo seems to have gone with the miserable weather - I must get it back tomorrow :)

  • Well I have finished the week well under budget - I've been very frugal indeed! I have 48 pound left - I haven't been out this weekend - I was asked but made excuses as I have seen a pressure jet washer I would like to buy but after talking to my neighbour this afternoon ive been offered one free of charge as she's just replaced hers with a bigger one - so I am very pleased about that! so what do I do with the 48 pound - how much on morg overpayment and how much in savings? - i'll decide tomorrow and update then.

Lovely day today - caught up on some jobs - helped a family member with some DIY and then had a long walk in the woods with a family member and dogs.

Called in s/market tonight just to get some milk and dropped on some real bargains - trays of meat reduced from £4 to 50p so I got a couple and they are now divided up and in the freezer - glad I didn't go out tonight now or I wouldn't have got them.

Looking forward to a nice day tomorrow - dinner at a family members house and then a nice walk - I really ought to do some garden jobs too - i'll see how it goes.

I've caught up on some diaries tonight and it's really pleasing to see young people on here sorting their finances out (not pleased theyre in debt I must add but pleased they are sorting it while still young) - I do wish I had done this when I was much younger but it was all spend spend spend then :( never mind better late than never

Can't wait to update my figures in a couple of days when the morg interest will have gone on.

I've just checked on line banking and have updated my figures - as of the 1st June I have paid off £2,362. I'm going to split the money saved from last weeks budget equally between and morg overpayment and savings.

My 70 pound budget starts again this week - here's to another good week!

  • Quick update - I have come in 11 pound under budget - will split between morg overpayment and savings.

I have listed on ebay today as I have ordered some clothing and shoes on line and although this will come out of my clothing budget if I keep them all I will have gone over my allowance so this gave me the incentive to do the listings - pleased I did now - just hope they sell?

My budget for this week is 128 pound, which is more than the usual 70 as I have a night away next weekend - the hotel is paid for so it's just spending money - i'm also having a visit to the hairdressers but don't usually pay much for a trim. The rest of my spends will be food and travel and any other day to day spending but to be honest I don't usually have any as I always take lunch to work with me.

Off to catch up on some diaries - will update later in the week with progress against budget.

Had a good week - plenty of walks but no gym visits - I must get back on track!!

  • Had a good week - came in under budget by 30 pound - have paid it all on the mortgage.

Did not bad on the ebay front - hoping for 30 pound after fees and postage - i'm regretting selling one of the items now although I hadn't used it in a year so not sure why?

Pay day tomorrow - just worked all my figures and I can make another 30 morg overpayment and add quite a large sum to my savings pot.

my normal morg payment will come out more or less straight away and im hoping that by the end of the month I will have paid approx. 600 off the combined outstanding balance. i'll update at the beginning of July when all the payments have been made and the morg interest added on.

My budget for next week is 73

Quick update - on track with my weekly budget I have spent 29 so far - well stocked up with food - bought from 5 different s/markets (luckily all are nearby) also did price checks before I went to make sure I got the best deals at them all. Freezer is packed again as dropped on some reduced pork steaks and lean steak mince packs which will keep me going for at least 9 or ten meals. Also made small donation to a local charity.

Hoping for a relaxing weekend - I've been invited to a house party/ meal where everyone takes food/ drink - I already have drink in and will make something out of my supplies to take with me so it should be more or less a free night? if so I will be adding to my savings/morg over payment - I've been worrying a little about the talk of morg interest rates possibly going up by the end of the year (i'm quite lucky as most of my morg is on a fix of 2.69& with the remainder on 5.69% - both are fixed until Jan 16 so it will be a case of fixing again when this ends) I suppose anything can happen between now and then so there's no point worrying too much? At the moment all my overpayments are going on the part with the higher interest.

Can't believe - I've been on this site nearly six months - how time flies! and it's the best thing I ever did joining !!

Off to catch up on some diaries
