    I've been Money Tipped!
We were trying for a while & I'd had an injection which meant pregnancy hormones were in my system so had a specific date for testing. I was convinced it was another no so did the test before I hopped in the shower then saw the 2nd line when I was shampooing my hair.

So no he never saw me do the test (or any other) although he did know

I told him I was going to do the test and then he came in afterwards to look at it when I was sitting on the floor watching the stick. I have a bit of a thing about people watching me pee, really don't like it!
  • Nope, I thought I had some terrible illness and just took a test 'to rule it out, then I'll go to the Drs' (to be fair things were up the wall, MIL had not long passed away, I'd been made redundant, we'd bought a house etc. etc.) it turned out I was about 14 weeks pregnant already...
  • With our DD (now 2) the test came up positive, so I shouted DH's name and said "come to the bathroom NOW" and he came up armed with a glass and a postcard, assuming it was a spider catching mission :rotfl:

This time I just told him I thought I was pregnant so wouldn't be drinking at the BBQ we were going to that night. I did another test the next day and told him.

I do like the videos and things of how people announce the pregnancy to their nearest and dearest / OHs, but for us, the news was so utterly brilliant that how we shared it didn't matter.

The kids from my first marriage were all me peeing on a stick and letting the news sink in before I told their dad.

Little one from marriage 2 was him suspecting before me. We'd just come back from holiday (with the kids) after our wedding. I moaned one night about feeling a bit queasy and he suggested I might be pregnant. I laughed and said I doubt it, I have a coil.

The next morning he was having a lie in, I came on MSE told everyone on a daily chat thread the conversation we'd had the night before. MSE peeps said go and get a test, I said don't be daft I have a coil, MSE folk nag so I get in the car and nip to boots to shut them up. Come home pee on a stick, 2 faint little lines, back on MSE to ask, does this mean what I think it does? Husband surfaces from his pit and looks very unsurprised when I tell him he's going to be a dad. 8 months later along comes our little surprise with my coil in her hand :)

  • No, we took 4 years to conceive this time so the number of tests I took was probably nearing 100 - to have told him every time would be crazy! He was asleep when I tested for the first time with this one and got rudely awoken by a half-crazed woman shouting "How many lines? Oh my God, how many lines?!" :D

He muttered "Two," then rolled over to go back to sleep before sitting bolt upright when he realised what it meant, nearly headbutting me in the process!

    18 weeks today :)

I am now 5 weeks pregnant with our baby but we tried for over a year so he would have spent a lot of time watching me wee if he had seen every test I have taken in the last year! :rotfl:

This time I waited until I was two days late (first cycle ever managing that!), he brought me the test, peed on it then came out and told him!

The first time I knew I was pregnant as I was 2 days late & we were on holiday so I had no cheap tests so we went and bought one together, went back I did the test and we watched it come up together.

Unfortunately I then had a miscarriage. This time I was testing before my period was due, on the cheapy tests and thought I saw a line but it was ever so faint. So I rang DH to say I think I'm pregnant!! He was like are you or are you not! Lol anyway I then got out a clear blue and got a proper positive I couldn't believe it.

I don't see why anyone would need to physically watch their partner pee on the stick unless there were major trust issues involved!

    That was my thought too.
