good luck for your assignment! :j :j
i have been SO inspired by all your decluttering tales so thank you! :j :j trying an overhaul of wardrobe - bought some new jeans yesterday and i was seeing what i had that would go with them - tried so many things on that just weren't quite flattering enough, or didn't fit any more, nd every single one of them went into the charity bag that popped through the door the other day :j :j :j0 -
Previously, I had been keeping things, just because I had never questioned why I was keeping them. When I really thought about it, I was hanging on to some things just for the sake of it. It was suddenly so much easier to let things go.

Thanks too cheeryI have done that with so many clothes lately - where they are just no longer 'right' for some reason and my wardrobe is so much better now - space in there, only things in that i will wear rather than having lots of clothes and nothing to wear which is making it quicker and easier both to select what to wear and to put the washing away :T so great saving time

I agree GG - although read on for my debate as to whether todays purchases are potential new clutterCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Hi All,
Assignment work continues - i envisage an early start tomorrow and i've already tried to re-schedule the MS - will see how i get on with that tomorrow.
Stomach hasn't settled - but think i'm becoming more aware of how i react to certain foods, and also to lack of food - if i am busy i overlook meals and thats not good for me.
Wasn't sure about posting this on here but that means i definitely should
Today i have got £331 worth of clothes and shoes for... £80.91 *yikes* only just added it all up :eek::eek:
I purchased 4 pairs of new shoes *faints then picks self up off floor* 2 pairs were for my holiday - realised its not that far away and i need good comfy smart shoes for the day and evening so that was £21
I then purchased 2 pairs of casual shoes which i *love* - all shoes were very good makes that i can't afford unless reduced and as i seem to live in my baseball boots they do need replacing quite regularly as i have just bought cheap ones before. These would have been nearly £200 but i got 2 pairs for £50 - again at least 1 pair will come on the holiday.
Final purchase was a stunning dress which i've debated about for weeks again for holiday. The declutter has shown a few gaps in my wardrobe so i am happy for a new dress for £10.
All items can be returned for a refund (except the dress) so i will try them at my leisure and make a firm decision then.
I don't feel at all bad for the spends - these are things i will get lots of use out of - 4 pairs of shoes is excessive though but 1 for day (last years thrown away as worn to holes) 1 pair for evening (again last years thrown away, were holey but had been worn for 10 years so good going really and due new ones) 2 boo-its - current pair getting to the holey stage
(but i love them) - i seem to walk very heavily on my heel.
All just slightly over 1 months spending money.
In good news left some reduced meat - it wasn't quite reduced enough and i didn't *need* it - good step in the right directionCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Hi DDFW - you have to buy SOME stuff every now and again you know - if you carry on decluttering at your amazingly fabulous rate you are going to find yourself opening the wardrobe doors and finding just one t-shirt and a pair of knickers. :rotfl:
Seriously though, your purchases sound excellent - enjoy them without guilt.
I have been tremendously busy doing other stuff (and spending alarming amounts of money) but am now getting back on track with normal life. Must get back to my diary, to proper eating and proper spending - I am hoping for a fairly frugal month of May.
Hope you are feeling better, DDFW and I am as always impressed by the workload you get through. The assignment will get done, the exams will get done - all will be well, just keep on going. :T0 -
Sounds like a really good batch of purchases to me!
As you say, de-cluttering makes it really easy to see where gaps are in the wardrobe.
I've recently identified that I need a light weight water proof jacket.
I have a really nice anorak, which is nice and warm, but if the sun comes out at this time of the year, can be too warm. I have three lightweight non water proof jackets which I wear and enjoy.
I do have a light weight water proof jacket - but I loathe it - I hate the colour, the fit, and the way the collar is too bulky. It must go - life is too short to wear things that actually make you feel bad about yourself!
I'm on the lookout for something I love and that will give me years of service.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I think that sounds like a bargain haul: if you needed them, you needed them - we sometimes actually *have* to buy clothes, much as we might not like spending the cash!Debt: £11,640.02 paid in full! DFD: 30/06/20
