I'm with the others - you do NEED clothes etc
.
Now what WOULD be a waste of money would be if you felt guilty every time you wore them. So best enjoy them now they're here :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Agree re the clothes. What's even worse is that if you don't buy what you need when you happen across a good bargain, you may end up paying Full Price when in total desperation for them.Mortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 11st 12lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. Hi All and thank-you all for the input
I think the big indicator for me was that i didn't feel any twinge of guilt when paying for my items. I said the other day i would only buy clothes to wear at a specific day / time. Well i had identified the need for the holiday shoes and was pleased to get the evening ones sorted out - no high heels for me in hot climates so needed something to boost my wee height and that was smart enough.
I haven't tried any of the shoes on yet - will do later today but looked at my beloved low-tops and *sob* they really will last only 1 or 2 more wears as the back / heel area is really worn down *ponders how to change walk* so getting replacements and not at full price (thanks INOD) was a good decision. With the casual shoes they will all get plenty of wear and my Mr thought they were a brilliant price and very 'me' :T
Dress i got is stunning - i was trying to avoid holiday spends - as in new stuff for the trip - but having cleared out all the stuff i either don't think i look good in, doesn't fit right, totally gone off now, i will benefit from just a few pieces to spruce up my wardrobe and have something pretty to wear on my fab holibobsSo am currently looking at 2 dresses for the formal nights - both the same make i know fits me well and will do for 2 weddings and 2 race trips coming up too - aiming to spend below £10 on each so *fingers crossed* for me.
Also lots of my items end today so *fingers crossed* for some bids pleaseCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Just checked banking  - realised after doing the same sum on my phone calculator 3 times that this is broke - its a good job the gold money came in as the money i had paid to my credit card the other day would have left me short for my mortgageStill due to gold sale had a tiny bit i could pay to the credit card again so duly did that :T

A few more pages done, most photo's taken now combining with descriptions and setting listings up ready - have bids on 2 of my 100 items Woo! hoping for more to sell both for the money and then i can list other items too.
Thinking lots of things at the mo. I need a target date for clearing the mortgage, i want to go into a branch (where i'm hopeful i may get a mortgage) and speak to them about re-mortgaging to them - with their interest rate i can reduce the term and pay less than i'm paying now a month - meaning of course more overpayments for meIts so frustrating though to be stuck on the interest rate that i am - i have never missed a single payment and have made additional payments when i've been able to but my income means i'm stuck at having to pay more out a month because i can't get the lower rate :wall: Arrgh!
1, how to work out a realistic though challenging target date for clearing the mortgage ? 7 years - is that even realistic?
2, write out budget sheet ready to swoop on bank and request appointmentThey'll say no - especially when you look at my income v mortgage payments
But i hope they can tell me the position i need to be in to be considered.
Detailed budget will need to include things not budgeted for now - home insurance, gas, electric - get the form on-line print off and complete
3, use this frustration to focus throwing money at the debt and stop buying shoes:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Lunch consumed and freezer inventory updated - i have to say that dull and hard task (not been done forever and very full) of emptying and re-loading the freezer has been fab :T I know where everything is, i know what i can use for meals i know if i have room for cannot be missed offers - easier meal planning and money saving so a happy bunny here
Right now onto the next page,
2 items fully prepped for bay of e
break
looks like its going to pour down here :eek:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
You are doing so well! I'm impressed with your ongoing decluttering.
Great bargains too!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
DDFW, have you shopped around for a new mortgage or have you just asked your current provider? I know that the criteria for mortgages have got stricter lately but I am not sure what immediate impact that will have. I was hoping to change our mortgage to an offset-style mortgage when our current fixed rate runs out.
Keep us updated on what the banks says and I hope you manage to get what you want.0
