I'm here and I totally understand, I'm like a reverse career coach!
Readers of my diary might not believe me, but I'm trying to take a more grown up, detached attitude to work squabbles these days. I am sure that your boss probably feels like a total tit, there's every chance that they will pour oil on troubled waters in the very near future.
1, 2 and 4 sound like the sorts of thoughts that go through my head every time I get stressed out at work!
Chin up, ignore and continue to be yourself
Ps. Well done on increasing your pension payments, I always pay as much as my employer will match
Pps. You've also tapped my mind 100% on the value of being MF. Having lots of money/minimal outgoings are sides of the same coin, they both allow you to tell your 'orrible boss to stuff it0 -

Pah to horrible bosses DDFW - I'm lucky in that respect but have had one before, so pah againA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Blimey, DDFW, I'm just catching up - this sounds awful! How was today?
And please don't kick yourself for not responding - hardly anyone responds to stuff like that the first time it happens, because of the shock of it, as you say.
If its still impossible to think of anything, maybe you at least need a "placeholder". "I'm going to need some time to respond to that properly, these are some very problematic statements you've made to me". I'll speak with you later/tomorrow after I've considered the right way forward". That sort of thing ...
How you doing?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ok, lets get the bad out of the way first
I am still annoyed about work yesterday
But soldiering on
Boss chatted with all the people reporting into them today - including the two colleagues sat either side of me and the 2 colleagues facing me - all except for me. They also offered to make everyone a cuppa - except for me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: and
Ed am sure you have felt what i can only describe as being the 'not bothered but uncomfortable' feeling i have felt today *sigh* lets see what tomorrow holds eh?
Moving on - still with the bad-ish though :rotfl: totally went out at lunch and did some retail therapy2 lovely dresses and a necklace and earrings duly purchased. All but the earrings can go back. - Both dresses are very 'me' - something i often struggle to find and all were less than half price - do i need to carry on justifying?
Was also annoyed as i got offered an interview for a job :T But its when i'm working
I rang them to request a change of time or day but its all scheduled in. So i tried to arrange the time off in work by using holidays / working a Saturday to have the day off i need but it was all turned down
:(:( Any suggestions?
Moving onto the good
£1 paid to mortgage reminding me nicely to look at my accounts and keep money and how the spending of that money affects my choices - does that mean i need to reconsider the dresses ? :rotfl::rotfl: to be honest £30 for 2 dresses retailing at £95 is not so bad and i do know when i will wear them- maybe to redress the balance though i should throw the same amount of money to the mortgage - covering the earrings and necklace as well so £38... Done my sums and Done the payment too :T:T:T
Tonight i *must* clear a drawer - it is just full - the stuff probably does need to be in there but i'll look through it all. Uni work - get on with it! Language homework - get on with it!
Ed - pension isn't through work - i had paid heavily into pensions with my meagre wages when i first started work - in the time before minimum wage and i *think* my months wage was just over £400 :mad::mad: - lost all the money i paid in as took a better paying job and so on - contacted pensions to amalgamate - not possible and ' oh your fees have now left your account at £0 ' It totally put me off paying into a company pension where i wasn't staying long term. I do now have a pension where i am now and think they have been made to be more transferable so i'll check that and find out about increasing payments and what my employer contributions are.CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Hi KC - cross posted as i've been doing other things at same time- see above for today
Thanks for the tips
It has been a tough old week KC with RL things let alone work issues of yesterday. I am muddling through and me and my Mr are trying to support each other through this difficult time.
The good news is the focus on MSE, the wonderful support form you all on hereAnd i am dusting myself down and going for a run on Sunday - it will be my first in a while but my run is soon and i need to get back on it but due to RL upset have not had the inclination to do so. So a bit of moving on to be started this weekend too x
Thank you to you and everyone for stopping by and your support xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
re bosses not letting you have time off. Sadly not a lot you can do about it, though (just checked with Mr greent- HR professional specialising in emp law) Is it worth saying you have an interview? - two sides - 1 it alerts them to your job hunting but 2 - they may be inclined to let you go if they're not friendly (or 3 - could be bloody minded and still say no and you card be marked
)
Nothing helpful to say, really - except Mr gt once ran London marathon an about a month's training! Half killed him, mind!
