Congratulations Rummer :j  Enjoy baby and don't put too much pressure on yourself to be fab too quickly. You're entitled to a bit of babytime! xBitsy_Beans wrote: »
Teeny welcome to the thread. My most recent cheap potions is oat milk cleanser. It's dirt cheap and contains no nasty chemicals. You need dried skimmed milk powder (basics brand is fine) and oatmeal/oatbran which you can find in the cereal aisle.
Mix equal parts together in an air tight jar and scoop out a small amount add a bit of water to make a paste and rub it all over your face. I use it every morning and my skin feels lovely
Thanks for this Bitsy I'm still struggling with my skin and feeling decidely unfab:( I haven't been able to wear any make up/ bb cream since boxing day and have even been reluctant to moisturise except for with oils. I did try an organic cream yesterday which tingled a bit but then settled but still not happy about using it yet. I need something really moisturising as my skin is just drinking it all up and needing more atm.
Have a stinking cold which is refusing to budge too. Have just finished my next assignment for OU and am just trying to get my house back in order after xmas. Gonna have a lazy lookafter myself afternoon today though. I think a bit of R&R is in order. xFrump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Hi everyone. Nearly finished week 2 of the regimen. Skin starting to clear already, very dry still though. I just keep moisturising and avoiding cosmetics at the moment until it's calmed down a bit.
As I've been scrubbing the house this week, I've mainly lived in jeans and jumpers. Hopefully the house will be done by the end of next week so I can glam up some! Will try dedicating my 30 mins starting tonight. The regimen takes about 15 anyway so adding an extra 15 won't be tough! I'm addicted to Lifetime Movies at the moment so I can fab and get my fix at the same time!
Treeny I am self-imposed skint at the moment too. On the last hurdle of my debt repayments and want to blast it. I'd been in some kind of debt my whole adult life so I'm so ready to be debt free! I'm hoping to get 3 months of temping soon that I reckon will allow me to pay off £1800 and then get the rest done with hubby's income! Boots essentials skincare is my favourite. It's usually on offer 3 for £3, which will get you a decent face wash, moisturiser and toner.0 -

Well I'm missing the joys of all the time off over christmas!
It's been a busy week but I have managed to fit in 2 gym sessions, a swim session and a trip to the cinema. Busy busy busy! And i've lost a teensy pound but it's got me down to the next stone which is always nice to look at on the scale!
I hope all are well and settling back into the rhythms of January! Fab Friday tomorrow - I plan to make a nice effort with my make up and perfume!
Did anyone watch the 7.39? I've got it on catch up and can't wait to watch it at the weekend- i've heard very good reviews![STRIKE]7lbs to lose [/STRIKE]

I have been gabbing every day! Not being at work has given me more time to spoil myself and I have made sure that I have time for me every day.
My family gave me the Estee Lauder Makeup set for Christmas along with their skincare regime so I have been cleansing, toning and moisturising each day as well as experimenting with different eye shadows. It is amazing what a bit of blusher and some concealer can do to a face lacking in sleep :rotfl:
Been eating loads of fruit, nuts, whole grains and seeds which have helped with the tiredness. I have though at night indulged in chocolate and other sweet treats which I am trying hard to cut down/out. The water drinking is going well and I have felt better for it too.
Now I need to start with the gentle postnatal tummy exercises and to get into a body moisturising routineTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -

Me too, it's amazing how quickly the best laid plans and ideas can slide. I have concentrated on eating better and keeping the house tidy this week, but had little time for exercise or fabbing.
I had a really happy Friday though, I jujjed myself up and felt really great wearing a dress I hadn't previously worn to work before but nobody commented! Still it felt good and I skipped around the supermarket with extra spring in my step tonight.I have been gabbing every day! Congratulations on your recent arrival! It sounds like you are doing really super job, coping with a new born and fitting in some time for yourself and fabbing. Plenty of new mums can barely manage to get themselves together and dressed at this stage.Mortgage

You are doing so well!:T:T:T I'm delighted for you both with baby news and because you're taking care of yourself. You're a shining example of what can be done.
I'm getting fabbed up for Friday but a lunchtime start for me today. Like you kiwi I've got a dress and heels planned, all showered and fragrant, blow dry my hair and do make up when I've finished on here.
Had a manicure and pedicure yesterday. I'm not sure about hands, first time I've had colour on them for ages (dusky pink) but I though I needed a change from French. Jury's still out on that.
Sun shining here!:D0 -
Bitsy - thanks for the oatmeal/dried milk tip - I'd forgotten that one. If milk was good enough for Cleopatra then it's good enough for me. Reminds me I have a "milk based" treatment will dig out the recipe and post it up.
I have been using oatmeal in my bath this week and the skin on my legs feels much better. I'm following it up with Aveeno colloidal oatmeal hand and body lotion. A bit expensive but hopefully once my skin settles again I can then just go back to making my own body oils - a lot cheaper and no nasties.
Well today I went to my first pilates class - very good. I couldn't do all of the exercises by the book so the instructor gave me some tips on how to adapt them for me until I get a bit stronger and fitter. I've even managed a walk today as well.
I've not weighed myself yet but so far have been pretty sensible with the new eating plan. I've just made some carb free biscuits, substituting ground almonds for flour. Not bad for a first attempt but will tweak the recipe next time.
The basic recipe can also be adapted for cake, "pastry", crumble toppings, cheesecake type bases etc.
A bit more expensive using almonds than flour but at least I will be able to have the odd biscuit, slice of cake whatever ……..
Any ideas where I can buy larger catering size bags of ground almonds ……..I'll check out Costco but I don't recall seeing them there.
Right time for a rest and then cook dinner etc. I'm planning to have a look at my jewellery making stuff tonight - I fancy getting creative again;).
Yesterday I bought another large farmhouse pine table for "shabby chiccing" although nowhere to put it at the moment, so it's folded down for now. However at £15 it was an absolute steal so too good to miss. I might use it as a sewing table for a while. I have promised to treat myself to a new all singing and dancing sewing machine this year so I can start sewing properly again.
I have booked a viewing for what looks like my "dream house" tomorrow morning. It's in a very pretty little town just about 5 miles from the city, on the north side so part of the "Gateway to the Peak District".
Wish me luck. I've not seen inside yet and tbh I don't care if it's a flea pit, that can be fixed. It's the right size in the perfect location for me. Properties like this in this area are as rare as hen's teeth so competition will be fierce and I need to act quickly so I've spoken to my broker to get the funds in place.
Please keep everything crossed for me and send me lots of positive vibes.
Hope you've all remembered it's Fab Friday.0 -
Fabbed for Friday, except for my footwear!, went into (small) town with OH for the usual Friday shop of free range eggs from market and yummy bread from artisan bakers, then spent Christmas present money from my Mum on lunch at really old inn with open fire which does tasty pub food. Wore my grey flannel maxi skirt, flowery thick tights nice jumper, make-up etc, but needed to wear my walking boots as I always walk back home (downhill) and the session with my PT yesterday included new and extra excercises for my wonky ankles, necessary, but left me in pain today, no doubt my look could be classed as eccentric, but heyho who cares:rotfl:
After a delish Thai chicken curry for lunch the second high spot of my day was when the very young man in the newsagent said that my bright pink highlights looked really cool:D
LL Would you mind sharing when you have perfected the biscuit recipe please? I have a friend who doesn't tolerate any of the grains and it would be lovely to be able to take something to knitting group made especially for her.The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.
