Hi
can I join you please? I think I need some support to do all the things I want to achieve this year and regular checking in with you should help.
A little about me, I'm 29 (turning 30 later this year) and have been married 5 years. However this last year I feel like I'm being pulled in every direction by work and family and neglecting me and what I want. So my word for 2014 is balance.
I want to exercise 3 times a week minimum, use the many many toiletries I own and lose at least a stone this year by eating healthily. I also don't want to do any overtime especially not unpaid! ! Off to have a healthy breakfast and a bath xxx£2 Coin Savers Club £14 :j (joined 18/2/06)0 -
Happy New Year
Good Morning One and All and a nice big welcome to all our newbies. Hope you all had a lovely evening and are not too hungover.
Well 2104 looks like being a very busy year for me, what with house renovations and also need to help my dad clear and sort out my parent's house. Not really looking forward to that tbh.
There will be increasing demands on my time re OH and helping supervise my parents care - I can't leave it all to my sister.
My goals and targets for this year are
1. Continue to improve my finances
2. Lose weight - minimum of 2 stones
3. Get fitter
4. A new and improved social life
If I am to achieve any of my own goals and ambitions this year, my first priority will have to be Effective Tme Management.
Like WW - I am going to break down my enormous job list down into monthly targets, with weekly to do lists.
So, here's January's. I'm calling it
Jettison the Junk January
No Junk Food - eat clean and healthy
No Junk TV or idly surfing the internet - they just waste time
No Junk people - avoiding people who drain me or drag me down
Sort out paperwork, wardrobes, cupboards etc
I'm going to clear the decks ready for action. Then I can work from a place of order and calm.
My wish list for this year is long, and at first glance, pretty daunting. So remembering our old friend the elephant I shall break it down into monthly mini goals.
This month I will
1. Lose 4-6lbs
2. Join a fitness class, probably pilates
3. One outing or fun activity per week
4. 30 minutes exercise per day
5. 5-7 fruit and veg per day
For me effective time management will be the key to achieving success this year. I need to "find" some extra time.
To help me get organised and stay focussed I've bought a page a day diary, a small handbag diary to carry with me, an accounts book, and a couple of notebooks.
No visitors today and I will be avoiding the crowded shops so a bit of gentle tidying, some nice healthy cooking and making a start on the paperwork.
Have a lovely day.
Tomorrow we start in earnest.0 -
Morning and happy new year. Bath is running, make up bag updated (hubby works in cosmetics so I have a lot of pr samples) and mirror test done. Because of the regimen I need really sheer makeup to combat the dryness, so I'm all about less is more. Got an outfit on my bed and I'm ready to go!0

Happy fabulous new year everyone
Late night here, more tired rather than a hangover (did consume several drinks) - it will no doubt take me a week to recover from the late nightoh how times have changed......
Am fasting today. Haven't been in the right mindset to do this last few months but am determined to make it a part of my way of life. I can tell I've put weight on and I feel bloated and sluggish after all the rich food of Christmas. Have managed no food so far today (am sure not every fast will feel this simple) and will have my calories for this evenings meal. Haven't decided what I am having yet.
My jojoba oil arrived so oat and milk cleanser used and moisturised with jojoba. Also am making more effort to use my coconut oil all over, my skin has def looked better for it. Need to source some. Ore before I run out. No Asian supermarkets here for me to buy it cheap unfortunately
Right Christmas decs are down, let the cleaning commence :rotfl:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
LL - great plan! Isn't it good to make a list and be able to cross things off rather than have things buzzing around your head and feeling overwhelmed.
Thank you also for the mirror test - This morning or rather this afternoon what a shock realisation for me that excess alcohol and its effect on my body and life has no place in my new fabbing plans so my binge drinking will be no more. I have done nothing since getting up and I am going to allow myself a day of reflection - not in a negative way but very much a positive look at how things are going to change for the better from now on - its all up to me and the choices I make. I feel quite empowered!
Best wishes to all x0 -
Well so much for my quiet no visitors day. DS2 and girlfriend here for dinner.
I've put them to good use though. They have just taken some stuff down to the new property whilst I crack on with the meal.
This new "delegation" stuff is working well ......:rotfl:
It's been a filthy day here.0 -
Happy 2014 to you all. I certainly hope its going to be a lot better than 2013 was.
Time to look forward and move on.
Weather here today is awful, dog walk meant I got soaked to the skin, so just sat here in baggy jumper joggers and thermal socks, not very fab but very comfy and warm.
The new regime start in earnest tomorrow, I am so fed up with feeling like I do. Back to work as well tomorrow, ready for some routine back in my life.
Has anyone used toning tables to assist in their weight loss, I have an appointment with the local gym on Monday to see what its like.
Some great goals on here, I love the first few weeks of the new year when the motivation is at a high, shame it doesn't stay.
I think someone else has already had this word, but my word is also fun, need to have lots of fun this year.
Take care
