I don't have kids or anything but this came up in conversation recently and I was curious.
For those of you with more than one child, do you have a favourite? If so why?
I know this is probably a bit taboo but remember this forum is anonymous, so be honest.

Ok i'll go first, I think I can honestly say that I don't have a favourite. I love my children equally the same and love them both for different reasons, their personalities, their traits, their interests. They bring me joy and happiness and I could never choose one over the other, there would always be a link missing.0

Definitely don't have a favourite and do genuinely love them all equally but there have been times over the years when I have 'liked' one of them less than the others in equal measures0

I don't have children but I'm my parents favourite child. I'm way better looking than my sister and much more successful.0

That's a very valid point too!!! I have a child who at times can be "harder work" than their sibling, but it doesn't make me feel any less love for them than for my other child.0 -
I don't have children myself but I think as they grow up they can get a perception of favouritism from how well you get on with your parents.
Just thinking of my parents, my sisters always thought i was my dad's favourite but we have similar personalities so would talk lots and share interests, and the same with my middle sister and my mum. Now that we're grown we can see that we was all loved equally and they went a long way to always treat us the same.
it was ok though, as grandmother definitely had favourites and hers was my eldest sister, so we each was someone's favourite lolLittle Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

My sons (31 and 28) are like chalk and cheese. The oldest has never answered me back in his life, is thoughtful, and has been no cause of worry. The youngest was the opposite, a bit rebellious, in trouble at school for not working hard enough, and caused me lots of stress a few times but.......he is the one who makes me laugh with his sense of humour. He is now in Australia doing well with a lovely girlfriend, and I sometimes wonder why I worried about him! Love them equally in spite of their differences, and very proud of both.0
