BlueMoo, INOD, what brilliant, brilliant ideas! :T Why did I never think of that, I have the world's supply of z!ploc bags in the cupboard, and I even use them for some freezer things but never thought about main meals, what a dafty I am. Sometimes you simply can't see the wood for the trees. :rotfl:
I quite fancy that tour around the world meal planning as well, what a great idea to make you think outside the box, I shall suggest that to Mr M and see what grand plans we can think upa penny picker upper. Today has mostly been of series of domestic goddess highlights...
Sausage stew in slow cooker, all very concoction cooking. Did a sweep of the fridge and tipped in some red cabbage, leek, parsnips and then the end of the red wine and some pearl barley for good measure. Managed to remember not to put in too much water so it ended up gloriously rich & thick. Seems to taste ok, it blinking better be good when I have it next week as I got four huge portions out of it.
Managed to get another portion out of the chilli tonight so that's in the freezer as well, suddenly it's looking rather full again. :j
Sorted through my collection of gloves... apparently I have 14 pairs. To be fair, I have awful circulation so need to wear them most of the year but possibly this is overkill. Can't bear to part with any of them... so I've decided to try and wear some out, when there's a will there's a way.
Pair of slipper boots that were way too huge are going in the charity bag, have also managed to gather my strength to get rid of my old bag that was falling to bits (I get too attached!). It gave me the parting gift of a four month old uneaten fudge bar though, bless it.
80 mins of aerobic exercise done! Good to know yesterday was just a blip. :j
Mr M's printed out loads of Tesko vouchers, most are for things we use a lot and are already on offer (or have long dates so we'll wait til the offers come on for those), so looking forward to those bargainous things appearing over the next while.
Nothing much else to report, just plugging away at 1Poll & VO.a penny picker upper. The weather here is pretty grim, remembered last night to rescue some fragile bits & bobs from outside before the winds hit, whew. The rivers here are getting pretty high, with lots more rain to come I'm quite glad we don't live at ground level.
Getting closer to VO payout.
10p decluttered from purse into kittybank.
Amazin gift refund has come through, thought swiftly spent again on a replacement present for Mr M.
Not sure what we're doing for tea tonight, we'd planned soup but there are some tubs of leftover chilli ingredients so I might swap tomorrow's omelettes to tonight and use all those up.a penny picker upper. I haven't yet got to the colour coding yet
saving that treat
for when I have a good baseline of recipes!
I do wonder, when reading many of the MFW diaries, if there might be a genuine need for an SSA group - Spread Sheets Anonymous :rotfl:
I'm not sure anyone would join though, as I think we all love our addiction and wouldn't want to part with it
I do have to agree P*M - 14 pairs of gloves is just a teeny weeny bit muchbut good plan to reduce the #

Usually I keep track on an accounts app I have but it all went a bit wayward for a while. I think about £10, I meant to go to the bank and empty it as it's become quite heavy again but I never made it, a task for the weekend perhaps!
I've still not written up my ponderings of last week(!), oops, shall try and do that soon, could do with revisiting it all anyway to keep myself on tracka penny picker upper. I was contemplating the foil ones but I thought it might be a waste? (Do you need to just chuck them out or do people reuse them?) I like that I can reuse the plastic ones... or rather, just chuck them in the dishwasher.Usually it's only me eating the meals (Mr M doesn't like stuff that's been frozen) so I tend to pop them in a pan to heat up rather than the oven. Could see them being good for veg & things though, shall have a ponder!
I forgot about the voucher law. I shouldn't have been so surprised!
Yarp, I give mine a good wash and reuse them ... it just depends what's been in them. The lids only tend to be usable once as they get soggy during the thawing, so I just use foil to cover them second time around!
Your decluttering sounds fun, but as you say, you still end up with another pile of something that needs dealing with!
I have a ring binder of plastic pockets I put torn-out recipes into - it's easy to take the plastic pocket out of the file to follow the recipe (and the plastic stops evil spills and splashes spoiling your page, if you're a messy cook like moi).
I also like this system because it's easy to move the pockets around to create menus - you could "meal plan" your whole week by putting the 7 plastic pockets with your recipes for the week at the front of the file, and keep the rest by category behind dividers: soups, dinners, vegetarian etc.
It also presents an ideal opportunity to get the post-its and whatnot out and indulge that inner stationery queen with a bit of personalisation and organisation!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Joined the Lose Weight 36 thread, thought it was about time I delurked and did something that would spurn me into (continuous) action. Another 80 minutes of aerobics tonight. :j
Did go for soup in the end, Mr M sorted it all out, bless him, (I was knackered from all that jumping about), and with ham & cheese sandwiches to boot. :smileyhea
