Haha, !kea can be rather trying on a weekend(!) We usually go at night during the week so we have most of the place to ourselves. It can definitely suck a few hours of life out of you though. (But I do so love the pretty made up rooms and endless rows of crockery and housey gadgets...)

Didn't do anything too drastic money-wise in the end as our plans for a trip out were scuppered by the rather stormy weather so we were relegated to having a wander around the shops for some birthday money spending, and then spent some time with family having a celebratory dinner.
Need to pop to the library & run a few more errands today, can't decide whether to just go out now and get it over and done with or wait around for a bit in case the postman arrives with these presents I'm still waiting for...

Well I gave the postman a chance but he declined to take it so instead of wasting my life waiting for him I made my way into town (bizarrely warm walk, yet it was snowing nearby earlier and is freezing now... odd. Unless it's just my own temperature going nuts??), dropped my off my books though still managed to come back with another massive bundle (hessian bags already paying their way!). A couple of novels, some gardening books (a good looking RHS one that has some splendid tips on growing all sorts of veg, it's already looking like one to invest in for future), and then a couple of career-research/lifestyle type ones, including one about a woman that decided to do a six month electronics-free experiment (I won't be following suit, I love the internet! *clings* ...But could probably do with being weaned off some things), anyway, what do I see when I come out but a girl dawdling right into the middle of an incredibly busy centre of town junction with her eyes glued to her phone. She barely even seemed that bothered that she was walking right into traffic. That's a bit too synchronistic even for my tastes(!)
Bread done, a few loads of laundry processed, I wanted to make some chutney but was feeling a bit out of it this afternoon so maybe that's one for another day.
Scrumptious toasties for tea, thought stupidly managed to take two separate cakey things out of the freezer at different points in the day thinking I had nothing for dessert, despite there being a massive box of birthday cake sitting on the kitchen counter. Ah well. That'll keep me going through tomorrow at least. :rotfl:
Found 81p kicking about my bag, have no idea where on earth all that came from as usually everything is tucked up nice and safe but obviously they wanted to sacrifice themselves to the cause and are now residing in their new piggybank home. :T
Rest of this evening will be hanging up the rest of the laundry and copious amounts of book reading. Quite tempted to have a super early night.a penny picker upper. It's Mr M who's the lucky one... though it's turning into a very extended birthday, maybe his presents will arrive in time to see the glory of my birthday decorations around the house. :rotfl:

Morning
The early night didn't quite work out, I got rather sidetracked catching up with diaries (which was infinitely more fun)
It's rather grey and drizzly here, but I'm planning to brave it and walk to the main event of the day which is a doctor's appointment to plan a new course of action for migraine-related stuff. It's not too bad today but I can still feel it all tingling round the edges, so time to change things up once again.
I've got some work errands that should fit in nicely while I'm out and about so with any luck I can get the majority of that done this afternoon which will be a weight off my mind. Must remember to take a sandwich out with me(!) Made all that bread yesterday, have leftover ham and sprouting seeds to use up. Must get a new batch of seeds on the go as well. Ooh, should take that pear tart thing I took out of the freezer yesterday as well.
Fish cakes out of the freezer for dinner tonight, shall have a ponder about what veg to go with it (possibly use up parsnips, fried with tumeric? Haven't had that in ages).
Need to do some quick account sorting today as well.
PS. In case anyone's interested in such things, this self sufficiency 12 book collection at The Book People just went down to £5 - click here. I'm sooo tempted, but maybe I should be good this time.(I believe there might be free delivery codes kicking about on HUKD for spending over £10? - and there's cashback available
)

This is going to be a bit moany
Doctors, eh? Basically a very unhelpful visit on several fronts, which has led me to waste the entire afternoon feeling a tad despondent (earlier) and then waiting around for them to phone me back when I managed to spring into action and query what they were playing at (last couple of hours). I was fleeced for £7.85 for something I don't think I can use, isn't the first time either.
Haven't eaten lunch yet as couldn't stomach it earlier and now with all this phonecall nonsense I don't want to shove sandwiches in my face in case the phone rings. Might give it up for lost now though.
In happier news, got worky stuff done earlier so feel much more on top of things there. Also walked four miles today so feeling very virtuous on the exercise front.Despite walking past several postboxes not one of them reminded me that I had important letters to post.
...finally they phoned! At least I feel like I got some clearer answers, yet still wonder how much it's just one person's opinion and will I be told something rather different by someone else. Nothing much else to do but try, try, try again. Ah well.a penny picker upper. Feeling much chipperer now, thanks moneycurious. I've spent all evening curled up on the sofa in a cosy blanket nest and reading a book, bliss.
I've decided to change my plan of action for tomorrow, will take a step back and spend a bit of time doing non-urgent but critical for long term work/health/life well-being type activities, can't wait to get stuck in. :Ta penny picker upper. Loving all this stationery talk. One thing I always wanted to do was some homemade paper with pressed flowers in them. Maybe I will try to research this....M3 Dec2015 #160 Target £150,000 (BU £155000)0
