I have just seen your "family Tree" on Orchard goose FB, they are amazing, in awe of your skills.:D
Thank you so much MM,
I had a little spare time over the weekend and have been thinking of doing something like this for a long time.
Glad I got it done, I received an order for one last night.
Off to the local fabric shop today, for Oil cloth, and some other supplies to get my orders completed.
I have such a shortfall in money during July so I need to get going asap.
I have also joined two challenges.
July No Spend Day Challenge
Make £10 per day Challenge
I have gotten into a terrible habit of nipping to the local store (which is SUPER expensive) for bits for dinner and then I have no budget left for my food shop, so I have been massively over spending on that category .
So I have only allowed myself 1 spend day per week, I must do my meal plan and stick to my budget.
I also thought the Make £10 per day challenge would keep me going with my Craft business. I have quite a few orders coming in, but have been prioritising other things that don't actually make me any money. That has to stop.
JULY IS MY MONTH. I MEAN BUSINESS :rotfl:
*Think I have been listening to Dave Ramsey for too long. I'm turning all American hehe0 -

July is going to be a tight month as I have to pay for £165 car tax out of it but I am firing up my crafts so I am hoping upon hope that I can get some sales coming in.

Aaaaw you guys could make me cry.
Thank you DFW, that's so kind of you. I think I have just got 1k per month set so firmly in my head as the ONLY acceptable way off getting this debt beat anytime soon that anything less is a big disappointment.
Wow are you sure you want to order one?, The actual Family tree is 10" x 8" and then the mount comes with it which makes the whole picture 14" x 11".
Either message me on here or FB whichever is easier and I would love to make one for you xxx0 -
Well done Steph on getting through June it was a month that you have been dreading and you did it :jyou have done amazing well looking at your signature you must be so pleased, I know that you have got to built your emergency fund up again but that is what it is for just keep plodding like others have said 59% is an amazing achievement in such a short space of time.:T

Morning Ciaerda,
Yes that emergency fund really saved our bacon during June, it was very nearly enough to pay for all the car issues. Without that £700 I think I would have given up on the whole debt busting effort, because it would have been so devastating to our budget.
I must make sure I quickly build it back up again, before the next hiccup strikes!.
I bought the oil cloth as someone had ordered a cover for their large steam iron that lives in the garage. They wanted it in Oil cloth so the dust could be easily wiped off.
Fab idea and it was fun to make. xxxLike everyone says - you have done amazingly! and you are ahead for the year so you have nothing to beat yourself up over. I am in awe of your commitment and determination. Give yourself a pat on the back. You are getting there.

Thank you Mizmir, I must admit that 6 months is the longest time I have stuck to debt busting. I think its the combination of YNAB and the savings pots, neither of which I have ever done before and it really works.
In the past I have just thrown EVERY penny to the debts but there are always MOT's or little hiccups in the two years or so that it takes to pay off debt and if you have not even a small savings pot when these come round it is so disheartening that I have just given up.
Lets hope I can last another year0 -
Morning all,
Well I have fired up my little craft business again and after putting up a photo of a framed Family Tree, I now have £138 worth of orders :T.
So pleased. These Family Trees do not take a lot of cost materials wise, it is just a lot of labour. But that works fine for me because I am at home during the day anyway so if I can be contributing to the household pot in any small way it all helps.
Looks like I am going to be very business during July.
I am also trying to persuade hubby to let me do some work with him. He has been given a large 2.5k's worth job in the village of plastering and repainting the inside of a house.
Hubby is stacked out with work and was going to give the job to his dad, who is also a builder but semi- retired.
I have been trying to persuade hubby that if he could just find the time to do the plastering, then I will go in during the day and re-decorate. (How hard can it be?) I re-decorate my own house, so I can do this one.
Its an empty rental cottage, so would be easy to cover floors and get the job done myself.
Then all the 2.5k would be for us.
I think he has agreed, but is just figuring out how and when he can do the plastering.
Keep your fingers crossed x0 -
Just a little update.
I have decided to do another "100 Square" chart.
I do one of these for my debt reduction as you know, and because of my love of colouring in squares :rotfl:, I have decided to do another one but this time it is showing "The Orchard Goose" (my Craft business) profits.
It HAS to be profits, after expenses as with a craft business it is VERY easy to over spend on bits and then be making no money whatsoever.
I thought this would give me the incentive to keep going with this, when I can see how much money over the year I am making.
So from the 1st of July, I have made so far. :- £3.21 :rotfl:
Yeah I know, not very impressive, but I have lots of orders in the book so hopefully that figure will go up soon.

Wow, just catching up and you are doing so well! £138 orders on your craft business is fantastic, that is definitely a good way to keep things up now you haven't so much to ebay. Impressed.0
