  • Steph,

If its any consolation, when I hit 40, things (or people) that had once annoyed the heck out of me just started rolling off my back. I've learnt to fight only the 'big' battles and I'd rather lose the battle and win the war.

So, don't worry and you're making great strides which will make life so much easier for you and your family in the future.

Hi steph, I work at home quite often tracking files which is really tedious some days I don't even know how to begin but what I do is set myself the task of completing a file then go off and do a job in the house and then work it like that to break up the boredom and also to get myself moving about.

I also put on the radio to cheer me up.

Well done on paying the mortgage.

    C x

    Hi Chrysalis

Yes I really need to find a software program or something that I can plan out my week on and print it out. I really need some structure to my day otherwise I bimble. lol

I am Totally addicted to the Dave Ramsey app. :o. I link my phone to my DAB radio and I listen to him chatting to people about debt problems while I clean the house. He is so inspirational. I adore Martin Lewis, he really needs a chat show like this so he can seriously chat to people and give them an action plan to get out of debt like Dave Ramsey does
I do feel he has slightly sold out with all the things he is endorsing and selling, but it is easy to enjoy his teaching without spending any money.
Glad you made the mortgage payment :) I'm on count down to pay day really so willing the month to go quickly now :o

I hope you got some work done! When I was working from home I would make myself a schedule because i'm so lazy I would never have got anything done (well I say lazy......I would do the housework, dinner, etc etc and avoid work :o ) so I would do short bursts of work and have breaks to do housework or have a rest in between. xx
    Hi DFW,

I am the queen of side lining the less fun jobs, keeping myself busy faffing with other stuff lol. Glad its not just me. xx

You are so right JustAboutThere, I really need to not stress the little things, she is still my friend, I am pretty sure she doesn't mean any malice towards me, she is a lovely person, just super busy. Guess I just have to find peace with the new level of friendship we have now, which is still good but just abit more distant.

I am so pleased with myself to get making such big moves to get my debt sorted. That is the most important thing to concentrate on at the moment.

Thanks so much for your help xxx

    Morning all,

Can't wait for hubby to get paid this weekend.

    I will be paying:-

Virgin (£74) and Littlewoods (£184) and hubby got an over-payment this week of about £150 so will pay that against NEXT.

So hopefully we will have paid off £1353.98 during April :T
    Debt total £16087 :j
I know I am doing this abit ahead of time but I am so excited to log these amounts that I wanted to write them down. :o

I am going to set my May Mini Goal at getting under 15k :D

So pleased at the amount we have managed to pay off this month. Have no clue where it has come from but who cares hehe.

Will update signature when I actually have the money in our account.

    Take care all
  • Fabulous figures Steph, testament to the hard work you and hubby are putting in.

Just looking at your amounts owing, when you get to paying down the LWoods card it will be a blast as will be less than the balance owed to Nxt when you started. Good incentive to keep it going xx.

    Well done, C x

Thank you Chrysalis. I must admit this is the first time I have ever gotten far enough into my debt busting to start seeing a real movement with the snowballing and its a great feeling.

Its tough in the beginning because you are working with such small numbers but its just beginning to gather up speed now.

Thanks for you kind words xx

Just doing the end of month signature posting to record how Aprils progress went.

Very happy with April, managed to pay off £1354 to debts. Not sure how I went so far over my 1k target but not complaining.

I am getting nervous about the 2 MOT's in JULY so any major progress I make now may have to cover a less than brilliant couple of months in the summer when I have to put all spare cash into getting our aging vehicles through their MOT's.

I am trying to put some money away but only managed £200 so far. Will be so glad when I am past those MOT's.

Really pleased that I have nearly gotten down to 16k straight. I will now set Mays Mini Goal to getting under 15k :D.

I would also REALLY love to have paid off NEXT by the end of June. That will be a real push as means payments of £578 each month. Only managed £442 this month, but good to have targets.

Right hope you are all having a good weekend.

I am off to sort my May Signature x
