Not good news, but this time last year you couldn't even make the minimum payments. So that's some progress :-)

  • You've got rid of over half your debt. You haven't added to your debts. You've got two weeks of wages put aside (if I recall that right?) for when DH is off. You are paying the mortgage off each month.
Breathe in, breathe out. Smile. It's only temporary.... You're in a great place, you're doing great and this is a test that's all. much love to you, I hate these types of blips too so I just mentally note ten things that are good in my life (I started yours above you can finish it....) and smile and carry on its all we can do sometimes xx

Thanks Dawn & DFW, you are right. I have gotten abit bogged down with the negative lately, probably because there is not much to report on the positive :o, but as you say, it could all be A lot worse and so far all bills are being paid and we are all alive. :T.

Typed up three quotes for future work for hubby today so will get those off in the post. He is out looking at another job which is pretty much 80% positive he will get it, and that is hopefully for about 1 week so will help bridge the gap until the operation.

Guess I just don't deal with disappointment that well ;).

Nearing the end of all the house moving with the inlaws. Was over there Saturday, yesterday and now will pop over this afternoon and that should be the end of it for me. FIL's girlfriends sisters are visiting next week to clean their old house. I am going to take a step back and hope they get on with that themselves. It is so hard to help atm with the children being off, the old house is empty and they get bored so its quite a nightmare to juggle making a difference to the mess AND keeping children happy.

Ds was happy yesterday, we took a load of rubbish from their house to the local dump and Ds found an immaculate black office chair that was £2. He has spent his pocket money and now has a gaming chair in his bedroom. I have a bargain hunter of the future :).

Did my little cleaning job this morning, inlaws this afternoon and that is another day gone.

Hoping on a quieter week next week where we can do some cheap fun stuff without all these jobs for other people.

Hope you are all surviving the summer holidays and finding cheap fun stuff to do.

    Speak soon xxxx

A belated Happy Birthday to you Steph. Looks like you had a lovely time :)

I can't believe how low your debt signature is considering how many setbacks you've had. It truly is inspirational.

Glad to hear that your OH has some jobs coming up. It must have been so disappointing to have the operation cancelled. Fingers crossed he gets work to take him right up to it.

  • Hi stepf have just stumbled on your diary. Just wanted to say your husband should make a claim for Esa for his op period. Provided his ni contributions are up to date this could bring in about£73 per week not much but a help. You make the claim over the phone, you can have it backdated to the day of his op and you will need doctors certificates. Well worth a punt maybe? Good luck with it all you sound a very capable manager.
  • Just checking in XX

Hope all is well and you aren't over at the in laws XXX

    Hi Clearmydebts

My birthday was wonderful thank you CMD, I have to admit that 2015 debt busting has been pretty dismal compaired to 2014. Not too sure why, but I just have never seemed to be able to get ahead of events and be able to throw a decent amount at the debts.

OH has amazingly been working all last week and has work for the rest of this week. The guy hasn't paid us yet which is annoying but at least we have it due any day now.

Hope all is good with you, will catch up with diaries soon xx

    Hi Toot,

yes I guess 60% is good to read, I can't help but see the negative of how much we have paid against debt this year, but I guess we have to ride the storm and just keep heading in the right direction.

All the animals are doing well. Sheep will hopefully be ready to go in the autumn which will make it A lot quieter here. Orphan lambs are VERY needy, even when they are 6 months old. I sometimes think they bleet to get a fuss off me as well as wanting more food :o.

Pig are fattening up, time will tell if they are ready by Christmas or if we need to keep them into the new year. I do enjoy the winter as we have a lot less animals to look after and its a break for us during the dark wet & cold days.

We decided against raising any turkeys this year as our close friends are turkey farmers so we buy a cheap turkey from them each Christmas and we have three geese to be culled for Christmas so could always have goose on the table if we have no money ;)

Hope all is good with you xxx

    Hi Puzz

It definitely is nice to see the debt amount coming down to a less scary amount. I will feel quite happy when it hits the 5k mark as that feel like an amount that won't bankrupt us if times get really hard.

Had abit too much downtime lately doing fun things with the children, that's why my MSE diary has been abandoned.

Trying to get back into it now as it does keep me on the straight and narrow, so I mustn't forget to post here.

will catch up with your diary soon xx
