Afternoon Steph,
Could you do the shorter course first so that you could be getting work out of it and then do the other course alongside?
Sounds like a plan although I think id have to wash peoples feet first before touching them haha!!! xxMummytogirls x0 -
Thanks for your reply MTG, I am waiting on my Dr's secretary friend to get me the contact details of an old friend who also does what I am thinking of. I want to make doubly sure that any training I do is for something people will definitely need not just want. Will update when I know.
Sun is shining here in Dorset today.
I have Mr T coming between 11-12 and then I am packing a picnic to go watch hubby playing cricket. There is a playground there so children should be entertained.
I have been waking up for the last week with terrible upper back and neck pains, not sure how I have done it, but once I get moving it eases a lot but it is really painful. A friend gave me £30 voucher for a beauty salon for my birthday so with hubby hopefully home getting over his op, I might get booked in for a Head, Neck and Shoulder massage once he is well enough to be left alone for an hour or so.
Hubby has his operation Monday morning so I have done some YNAB calculations and we should be ok for paying bills, just as long as we control our misc spending.
I have already bought the children school uniform, all I am missing is a tracksuit each, and only for Ds = trainers & school shoes.
I have £100 saved up in my little hidden pot for emergencies and I am hoping a fleabay sale might make around £80 in the next few days.
So all under control so far.....
Enjoy your sunday everyone x0 -
Morning diary,
Well we were all up bright and early this morning taking Dh into hospital for 8am.
Looks like it is hopefully all going ahead. I am so relieved to be getting past it finally, its been a black cloud looming over our heads for best part of 2015.
Just waiting by the phone now for the hospital to call, expect it will be nearer lunchtime when he is finally ready to come home.
Washing out on the line and more going in the machine. All animals fed, can't really settle down to doing much more really as I'm waiting on the phone to ring.
Hope you all have a good day xx0 -
So glad DH's operation is going ahead today - it will be a big relief for you all!
It's a bummer when you can't stray too far from the phone - hope you manage to get some little bits done.0 -

Hi Steph!
Sorry I have been a bit AWOL lately...The summer holidays seem to make everything else less of a priority (as they should!)
We're the same with spending...This is my first summer holidays between school years and the first with two active kids (rather than 1 and a baby last summer) S isn't walking yet so needs extra attention when out and about as he wants to explore but needs to hold a hand so he doesn't start crawling round in the dirt!
We're trying to do as many cheap days out as possible - beach, park etc. J won tickets to abbotsbury childrens farm so we went there, and she got tickets for Monkey World for her birthday, so we're waiting for a day when OH is off and the weather is nice to go there too. There's always the extras I forget about like extra petrol, parking money and the occasional ice cream....
I hope your Hubby's operation has gone well. I'm glad you managed to save up the money to cover costs while hes recovering. Did he get paid by the dairy farmer yet? That will help you out.
Me and the kids are going to visit my family and OH's family at the end of the week. I'm hoping my mum will help with petrol money, otherwise I'll be spending money we don't have...I'd rather stay at home and save the money, but I haven't seen most of my family since March, and I have two new nephews born in April that I haven't even met yet!
With the work situation - I know how you feel - you have so much potential to do something well paid and full time that could actually be a career, but your children have to come first....I have a degree !!!!!!, yet I'm working as a carer for the elderly - a job that needs zero qualifications and barely any english skills...I did my NVQ level 3 when I was pregnant with S, but I can't even put that to good use because OH works such varying hours.
I hope your friend gets back to you with that phone number soon and you can look into podiatry. Have you sent your CV out to any other spas around to see if they can give you work?
xxDebt FREE thanks to YNAB0 -
Maybe when you have your massage you can tap them up for freelance work?
Hope hubby op gone ok.
I had a result with DS trainers, the plastic had wore through the cuff so making them really sharp to put on. He'd gone up a size so wasn't going to do anything about it but thought I'd message sketchers just in case. They wanted them back to the shop as they are defective so got a brand new pair in the next size up :-)Sealed pot challenge 822

Thanks for the well wishes everyone, hubby is home now from the op, all went to plan and its just the 2 weeks recovery now, although he is already talking about doing the odd job next week.:o, although I am keen for him to rest really as he has a lot of other aches and pains that could do with some time to heal.
Hi to Lhead, good to hear you are having a good summer holidays, I definitely hear you with forgetting to budget all that extra fuel and the odd ice cream, that trips me up every holidays. That cheap day on the beach still costs me £20 in fuel
Its kind of good to hear that I am not the only one who struggles with money making when young children and no immediate family to assist. Almost all my friends still have their parents to rely on. Its weird, I was out yesterday watching hubby play cricket and a friend who is in her mid-50's came to watch with both her parents. I know its sad but I couldn't help a small flash of jealousy that she is 15 years older than me and still has both her parents.
I have no clue what to do with the job front I HATE that I am such a yo-yo'er, my friends must despair of me because almost everytime I see them I have a new plan or idea.
I am ashamed to admit that I haven't been to any spa's yet. I have a £30 voucher for a spa and I think I am going to have an Indian Head massage. For two reasons - 1:- I would really like one and 2) it will be nice to have a chance to compare it to my routine. This might give me the confidence to sell myself to other spa's or it could totally ruin my confidence hehe.
We will see.
Hi Dawn - Fantastic news on the Sketchers, I would never think to do that. I will have to brave the shops with Ds in the next couple of weeks
Ok had better go - off to nurse maid hubby now0 -
