Thanks for your replies. I have calmed down abit now
So frustrated that it didn't go ahead today, can't believe it was only 1.1/2 hours before and they cancelled it. So disgusting.
I am just holding out hope that they book him in for next week, otherwise it is going to put our finances to the test.
Hubby being the star he is has found a few days work next week laying some paving so hopefully that should help bridge the gap.
Like you said though we were also all geared up in our heads for him to go in today and its so disappointing.
Just paid the last of our debts for July and a small bit of good news is we are now in the 7k region of debt outstanding.
Getting there super slowly but still heading in the right direction;)0 -
So sorry to hear your disappointing news.
You are doing so well with your debt, but it is only what I expected from you. Please don't under estimate your achievements.
Hope good news comes in the next few days re the operation.
Take care0 -
Oh no, what a disappointment for you all. You get yourself into the right headspace :-(Sealed pot challenge 822

Sorry about the news Steph but better it didnt go ahead if they didn't have a space to care for him if there was a problem.
Love and hugs being sent.

Oh Steph that's rubbish
Hopefully there'll be a cancellation soon and he will get called in.
Hope the kids aren't driving you crazy so far. J has only been off school since Wednesday afternoon and she's already getting cabin fever! We're going to try to get to the park today as it's going to rain all day tomorrow...again....
J's going to a sports camp for a week at a local school in the middle of the holidays and then we're going to stay with the grandparents for a week at the end of august, so I've only got 4 weeks of entertainment to sort out....That still seems like so much!
Our TV died, just after we'd bought my OH a Sat Nav he desperately needed for work...That means our holiday fund (a week in a caravan in october half term) has been wiped out and then some
And now the car needs a brake caliper, 2 tyres and wheel alignment...It all comes along at once doesn't it!?
Hope you're enjoying the sunshine while it lasts xxDebt FREE thanks to YNAB0 -

that is ridiculous Steph. I am so sorry to hear that. I would contact them and tell them your husband is self employed with work booked and that you need a definite date. It might make a difference and there is no harm in explaining the situation. Hopefully he wont have long to wait.0

Hi Steph, so sorry to hear his operation was cancelled. My dad's cancer op was cancelled twice because of emergencies so I can imagine how annoying that was (he's self employed too and was not impressed). I really hope the op is soon for you both to just get on with recovery then. Are you still working at the spa (sorry I am so far behind everyone i'm just sorting of jumping in on the last few pages)...
I hope the weather picks up soon then we can just chuck the kids out into the garden, so much cheaper than entertaining them in the rainy weather.
Ps whoever it was that suggested sick pay, i think they're right, my friends hubby was off work for a month and they claimed it, I think they may have got money towards their rent too for that period? Worth looking into ??

Thanks for your replies all, Hospital rang today and have booked in in for the 17th August!! 3 weeks away .
Its so beyond a nightmare I have almost blanked it out. Hubby now has to find three weeks of work before he has at least another two weeks off. This also pushes the whole bloody nightmare so much further into the year and kills more opportunities for me to debt bust. I am also worried about how it will effect Ds's birthday as that is the 2nd week in September.
I guess we will just continue to make the best of a bad deal but it has almost certainly killed off anymore trips or spending in the summer holidays as I just daren't spend anything for fear we wont have the work.
2015 seems to be pretty much a wash out for debt busting. We are still creeping in the right direction but on minimum payments of £360 per month, it will take me another
22 months .
aaah well. keep plodding0
