  • I think I may have worked it out!

All of the tickets listed are singles except the Coventry - Cheltenham Spa in the outward journey meaning cheltenham- Coventry is already covered in the return journey!

Thats what happens when you keep looking at something for too long!

I just need to warn people, if you use the Trainlines split ticketing tool you're potentially setting yourself up for a lot of hassle. They consistently sell tickets for trains that haven't been confirmed by the operator - for instance the operator hasn't confirmed how many carriages a specific service is going to have. So The Trainline thinks the train will run, and generally they are correct but they sell tickets for carriages that end up not being planned. Use the tools that were available before the trainline came out with theirs.
£5000 left to pay on credit cards, down from 40k!!

I wonder if someone could offer some advice...

I purchased split ticket via ticketsplit.co.uk from Bracknell to Workington, which involved 3 different split tickets. The first leg Bracknell to Reading was late and the second leg Reading to Coventry was cancelled. However the first split ticket was Bracknell to Banbury (two different train operators).

I have submitted a claim via South West trains who have confirmed I am eligible for a refund but that needs to come from the retailer who sold the ticket. The ticketysplit.co.uk website gives no contact details and pretty much nothing in that regard. I have since changed bank accounts and can't access my old statement to find out which company charged for the tickets!

Does anyone have contact details, or any other advice?

    Thanks
    Tom

Did you complete the journey or abandon before final destination?

    If you abandoned.

  • Thanks for reply. I abandoned before the end.

Your link is not the same website that the tickets were booked from in the first instance?

I note you have put ticketsplit in your post not ticketYsplit. This thread is about ticketysplit. Ticketsplit site merely provides links to other rail ticket sites.
  • I'm sorry Davey! I purchased the ticket via ticketYsplit.co.uk not ticketsplit. My bad and sorry for confusion!

No problem, the refund link I gave is a click through from the ticketysplit t&cs page.

If you abandoned due to cancellation a full refund is due.

It is true that train companies may change the timings of trains after the date you book. They can also change the number of coaches a train may have. This applies regardless of the retailer you use. If this happens, you do have the right to a FULL refund for the journey from the retailer if you choose not to travel.

Just wanted to say that my daughter, who is a seasoned traveller, has seen people fined using a spilt ticket. Their crime was not getting off the train at the station that the ticket expired/ restarted. Wouldn't have thought there was anything wrong in this but be warned :)
This is totally wrong. I know the law, and no wrong has been commited, let alone a criminal offence. I'd personally refuse to pay.
