It's £34.98 if you go Liverpool Moorfields/Carlisle at 12:20 and return at 17:35 to Lime Street on the Sunday. Lots of other options cheaper than £53.70 too.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

Are there any cheaper options other than the above ?
Thanks
£25.10 leaving Lime Street at 14.37on Saturday, returning at 11.53 on Sunday. You need to use https://new.trainsplit.com/#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660 -
Just booked split return tickets for me and the missus from Inverkeithing to Plymouth for £226.04, saving £75.96 on the normal fare (with senior railcards). Journey was split into 10 tickets for the outward trip and 11 for the return. Must be a record!!0

Return from Kings Cross to Newcastle - £95
Split the trip into two single tickets on exactly the same dates and times - £63
Both prices from SplitTrainTickets.com
Honestly don't understand why. Or why our train ticket system is so damn complicated that you have to spend hours to get a decent price to make it worth ditching the car for the same trip. Grrr0 -

The site you mentioned should find options that involve changing if you put it into the cheapest mode and/or click intensive search, though if you save £30 on a through train then you may as well stick with that and avoid the inconvenience of changing. But it's an option to save even more.ZoltarSpeaks wrote: »Or why our train ticket system is so damn complicated that you have to spend hours to get a decent price ...
I don't agree you need to spend hours though; just use any accredited split ticket site (such as the one you mentioned); put it into fast mode if you want to see the fastest journeys, and value/cheap mode if you want to see if you can save even more. This only takes seconds!0 -
So on 21st December I am travelling from Cambridge to Grimsby and returning back to Cambridge on 4th January, cheapest was splitmyfare with total price of £63:10 after their share of the saving which was £7:20, however when I searched I could not find this particular route, my brother found it, when he searched using exactly the same search specification he got a totally different set of results to me! So it would appear Splitmyfare being the cheapest but inconsistent with the search results. But I am happy with my saving and it appears its the cheapest out there.0

The prices can change because, at any moment, an Advance fare at a particular price tier can sell out.0 -

Am i missing something? I am new to split ticketing and havn't done a lot of train travel over the last few years but am hoping someone could have a look and tell me if its a site glitch or user error?
Thank you!0 -
Yes, it does appear that part of the journey is missing.
Interesting to note that Trainsplit.com also shows exactly the same bit missing.0 -
