She does look very frail. Got her ready for bed and talked to her. Wonder now whether they will think about a home. Trouble is she has 1 son in Manchester and the other 3 sons all live abroad.
I truly do what I can and go to her for an hour in the morning and an hour
at night. Plus whenever she calls me. But there is only so much I can give.
Pollyanna, she slipped on the floor in the bathroom and hit her head on the door handle then cracked it on the floor. I just can't get over the amount of blood and the huge gash. Bless her heart.
Well you all seem so busy, shopping, working, cleaning, nativities, school runs. You are all making me feel tired just reading about it.
I expect we will all be ready though when the big day comes.....we hope.LOL
Gosh, that does sound horrible. Sounds like the kind of thing that could happen to anyone, but her age makes everything that little bit more worrying. You are a lovely friend for helping out so much and I hope her family appreciate you. How far away do you live from her? Cook pasta for around 10 minutes
Melt butter in a pan, gradually add plain flour, then gradually add the milk stiring all the time until it goes thick. Add mature grated cheese (using mature cheese you don't need as much to get the flavour of the cheese).
Add ham (cubes or strips), a handful of peas (cooked). Then combine the pasta and the cheese mix.
Put it in an ovenproof dish. Sprinkle cheese over the top.
Bake 30 minutes on a med setting (or until the cheese on the top has melted).
Unfortunately I don't know the quantities of the ingredients I use. I have cooked it this way for donkeys years and I just go by what looks right.
I serve it with garlic bread. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi everyone, and thank you for the warm welcome :-)
Pollyanna - I'd almost forgotten the days when my two were bouncing on the bed at 6am:eek: you'd never believe it now - they'd both sleep in all day if I'd let them!
Mind you, there's things I really miss about when they were really young - the magical excitement of this time of year for one - they still enjoy it but there's nothing like the look on little one's faces n Xmas morning is there?
I'm now waiting nervously for my 17 year old to get home - he's driving from the local station having been to see a show in London this evening and it's really windy and wet out, so feeling rather anxious at the moment - hopefully he'll be back soon.
Wishing you all a peaceful evening x0
