Hi:)
I wonder if I could pop into this lovely thread from time to time?
I've been reading various threads on the forums for quite some time before finally registering, and this thread always gives me a sense of having a bit of company!
I'm married, two teens and not really needed much now, apart from at mealtimes:D
Most days it's just me and the family hound for most of the day while everyone is at work/school/ other activities, so it'd be nice to have people to "talk" to:D
Anyway, off to wake up my eldest who has a late start today, then dog walking and ironing before collecting youngest from school ( has an early finish today)
Dinner tonight will be something quick and easy - possibly soup and rolls - having a few easy days cooking wise before I spend what feels like 24 hours in the kitchen on Wednesday!
Hope everyone has a good day - and that the holidays come quickly for those of you counting the days at work.
Sorry about your fridge, nmic, as you say, at least you didn't have it stocked up with Xmas stuff.0 -

Morning all,
Blustery here, and damp. The wind is going to pick up by evening according to Derek the weatherman, so I'll nip into town early for a wander and some meat from the market.
We have a social event tonight with one of DH's activities - a meal and 'amusements' which sounds ominous. As it is some way out on the Gower peninsula, I hope we get there and back safely if it is windy. The food choice was uninspiring: Xmas dinner & pudding or beef and apple pie - we have to pay btw, so please don't think I'm being ungrateful. Can you guess I'm looking forward to it?
T*sco order arrived, with a few odd substitutions which had to go back: the cheese selection box was o/s so they sent a giant lump of Stilton! I think the worst ever was 1kg of lard instead of the cooking marg.
I sound whiney today so I'll go out and get rumpled by the wind - should sort me out
Have a good day all x
Hello Yvieblue !I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Good Morning all and welcome to Yvieblue you will enjoy it on here,we are a friendly lots.
DD has the day off so no school run for me this morning.I have the diet climic mid morning then round to Dds to take her shopping in Maidstone to get her last odds and ends.
We came 2nd in the pub quiz last night and had a very pleasant evening with lots of laughter. It was all Chritmas based questions so not too bad.
Right I'm off to have a large cup of coffee and wash my hair and then toddle off to the clinic.I can't wait to tell the nurse that the DR has given me a date for the op.
have a great day everyone
Cheers JackieO xxx0 -
Welcome Yvie :santa2:
Lovely to see you back bethebee I hope that you are on the mend now x
Didn't sleep much last night I was coughing too much
I hope this clears before Friday, I can do without coughing during my x-rays especially as it is 15 minutes worth of them:eek:
Need to pop out today and get a few bits nothing major just some eggs, ham and some veggies.
Just got to get the bread out of the breadmaker when it beeps and I will get DH to take me down.
DS got an email from his tutor telling him that he doesn't need to go into college until Friday so he is happy.
DD has the dentist today and guess who is paying. I wouldn't mind but we don't have to pay for our dentist bills as DH is on such a low wage, but because she hasn't signed on yet she has to pay, she can't sign on until she gets her official notice of redundancy  The old firm she worked for are really dragging their heels :mad:
Right Breadmaker is beeping so I will say BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning
Dull, rainy and windy here. Feeling rather tired. Again. Will I ever wake up feeling refreshed in the morning again?!
Downstairs bathroom has the um.....charming smell of sewage emanating from it  have run several large buckets of water through toilet and rung my resident expert (my dad) for advice. Smell had wafted upstairs this morning and hubby was blaming the poor dog!
Got to start wrapping presents, pick up a parcel, sort out some hamper baskets and try and rectify bad smell issue.
No idea what's for tea, not thought that far ahead.
Hugs and spoons all round xx
Yvie welcome
Jacks mummy happy anniversary to you and Mr JM
