Grrrr despite drain unblocker and several large buckets of water I cannot get rid of the stink in the downstairs loo. B*gger means I shall probably be needing to call a ruddy plumber. Just what you need just before Xmas.

On a brighter note about 70% of Xmas presents are wrapped! just got last bits for hubby and all of DS's to wrap. All those being delivered on Saturday when we return to Midlands are done and waiting patiently in the garage away from prying eyes and nosey fingers ;)

Still not decided about tea. Might do Cajun chicken, fancy something with a bit of spice to it.

Fiftyeighter glad your neighbour is OK and that you're feeling better xx

Icey definitely take it easy! X

    Afternoon everyone

Feeling a bit tender today as it was my office Christmas dinner last night, and my boss always buys me a bottle of champagne. The other two girls that were there didn’t want it, so I pretty much ended up having all of it!

Sneaky McDs sorted me out this morning. Good job and all as when I opened my sarnie at lunchtime, I hadn’t noticed that I’d made with bread with a little bit of mould on it. Couldn’t eat it then even though I could have just picked the tiny bit off, eurggh! Hence me getting my breadmaker out of the loft.

My OS is starting again in earnest. Found a thread on here about breadmakers and it got me thinking about mine. It got put up in the loft when my ex left and I used to love making bread, so that’s coming down again and I will start using it again. And now that my mum comes up to mine to look after my girls, she said she would get use out of it too. Yay!

Can’t wait for this week to finish as my 5 year old desperately needs some time of school. It is her first term of full time school and it is showing. She’s knackered by the time she gets in and this makes her ratty and grumpy.

Although hoping she is in a good mood tonight when I get in from work as she went to see Sleeping Beauty in pantomime today, so hoping she has a few good stories about her trip out. I had visions of the school losing her, but then I do panic a bit! It is her first “school trip” after all, I’m allowed to get a little worried, heehee.

My 3 year old is trying to get over a cough at the moment and it will be nice not having to drag her out in the cold as even if she has the day off from school, she still have to go with either me or my mum to take the older one to school.

No idea what dinner is tonight as my mum always cooks me dinner when she’s at mine looking after my girls (so much easier/cheaper than a nursery/childminder, it’s great!).

Lonewhitewolf – hope your back feels better soon.

Have wrapped diddly squat of the presents for my girlies yet, so that’s my task for the weekend when they are at their dads. Been invited out Saturday night, but as all the presents are at my mums and the going out will be at mine, have decided to decline. So that’s OS as I’ll be saving myself money!

Yvieblue – can’t wait for the days when I actually have to wake my kids up in the morning (sometimes have to do it now at 7am, but it has never ever happened at 9am!).

Butterfly Brain – hope your cough goes soon. My little one has had it for a few days now and I know it is driving her crazy. Even the old Vicks on her feet at night doesn’t seem to be doing the trick.

    Jacksmummy – happy anniversary!

Fiftyeighter – oh my gosh, that must have been a shock for you and for her. What happened? Did she just slip on something? Keep us updated as to how she is.

Lamewolf – re the dogs’ bedding. Reminds me of when I have to wash my daughter’s blankie. Doesn’t smell the same after a wash, haha.

Icey77 – see, this is why I generally don’t start cleaning. It’s has to look worse before it can look better, so I just don’t bother!

All the floors have been vacuumed and mopped.

All surfaces cleaned and anti bac'd to an inch of their lives.

Bedding all laundered and put back on the bed (I even vacuumed the beds).

Watched 3 episodes of series 1 of a programme I'd been following on 4oD:

Unfortunately I can see several traits in these people with OCD in myself but I still find the series funny nonetheless.

Household waste taken up to the front of the house for tomorrows refuse collection.

Tea tonight will be pasta cheese and ham bake.

I just want to clean the cooker and i'll be happy with what ive done today.

    Have a good evening all,

I've just noticed I'm on 998 posts so I'll do this and make tomorrow my 1,000th.

I've finished the cake, I'm quite pleased with the look of it. I'm just afraid it will be a bit boozy because DH has been feeding it lots of brandy.

    Wot? No veggie option?? ..............................

I imagine the veggie option would be the veg plus a panic about the gravy.

The meal was organised by one of the men, an elderly widower, so I assume he was keeping things very straightforward. He's set a quiz too.... and it's bucketing down with rain. The place used to be a residential home, and now is used as a kind of hotel as far as I can find out, it's up a farm track in the middle of nowhere and DH is not good at night driving anywhere, particularly unlit roads without signposts. Oh dear.

Evening all, helped DD get some more odds and ends for the boys for Christmas plus she wanted to get some of the food shopping out of the way.Its her birthday tomorrow bless her, and the garage have rung this afternoon to say she can pick up her new car tomorrow
Yay she is buzzing as although she has the garage courtesy car she is really looking forward to getting her new little runabout.

NSD for me this week as I have more than enough stuff in the cupboards, and I go away from Christmas Eve until New Years day so I am using up what I have in the fridge.

I'm not really very hungry at the moment and certainly don't fancy a cooked meal, so I think I will have some comfort food a couple of boiled eggs and crackers will suit me tonight, and I can use up some of the pears in the dish for pudding .
have a good evening everyone whatever you are doing

  • Well just come back from seeing my lovely little lady. She,s in the very capable hands of her son. But as this is the first time he has seen her injuries he was visibly shocked. She does look very frail. Got her ready for bed and talked to her. Wonder now whether they will think about a home. Trouble is she has 1 son in Manchester and the other 3 sons all live abroad.
I truly do what I can and go to her for an hour in the morning and an hour
at night. Plus whenever she calls me. But there is only so much I can give.

Pollyanna, she slipped on the floor in the bathroom and hit her head on the door handle then cracked it on the floor. I just can't get over the amount of blood and the huge gash. Bless her heart.

Well you all seem so busy, shopping, working, cleaning, nativities, school runs. You are all making me feel tired just reading about it.
I expect we will all be ready though when the big day comes.....we hope.LOL

Blimey, you were busy today. Could I ask how you make this as it sounds like something my girls might actually eat?
