Hello! It's been a little while.

So another couple of weeks, a few hundred £ down :( I have purchased new glasses but haven't picked them up. Was £221.50 all in, but it needed to be done. It's still painful.

I diversified my investments! I got myself a new fund in addition to my first one, this is to increase my risk profile and then to also increase my international exposure. Vanguard LS has a high UK base where I think it's a bit excessive.

My sister is about to start her new job, I'm very excited for her :T

I have lost over a kilo despite being naughty. :j The gym and the boyfriend are working a bit. Then again, I have circled up and down for aggggesss. The boyfriend is expensive, £22 spent yesterday just for lunch and another £14 for tickets for a foodie festival (he likes cooking). Eep.

I'm about 5 foot 2 so we can be mini friends :j

I have encountered a nasty cost. Dentist bills. :( I have a wisdom tooth (I'm 25! This should be over and done with!) and it's coming out into my cheek. It's infected, I'm on antibiotics. It hurts a lot. I've been very ratty.

Work has been a bit odd, I haven't been asking the questions I want to because my manager is too busy, my boss dislikes them and the other one I could ask is on holiday. :o

I really want to get my own place already, it's just so expensive.

Been kondoing a bit, I've gone through the seasonings and threw away the majority of them, they were all out of date. The door has been stuck open so grime and grease made its way in, all cleaned and wiped down.

I have an exam tomorrow, I can't be bothered :)

I need to do some clearing so junk, I have bags of things to go. But they have been sitting here for weeks. The trouble is, it'd be one 10 minute journey with a car or several 30 minute journeys on a bike that I'm not confident with.

Wisdom tooth problems suck :( i had mine whipped out when i was 21 in hospital (as i had to have a general anaesthetic) - thankfully it meant it was on the NHS then!

My next exam is on the 19th. Cba. It's also 1 day before my holiday so i cant get excited about that because it reminds me the exam is looming! I'm sure you'll be great - you're a smart cookie after all.

FYI - when you read "cookie" you have to do it in my accent because i've written it - so it's cooo-key (not cuck-key)!

What is it in Jonesy? I think you have told me but I've forgotten. Good luck with it, I'm sure you will be fine.

I have a test on tuesday and I'm terrified. It's ethics and I've been studying for months and I just don't get it. It's boring, it's repetitive and why do I need to know who is the CCAB? Why do I need to know that FRC has 3 committees, 2 of those committees have 2 and 3 supporting committee and the first two committee also have supporting acts?

I must prefer debits and credits.

I'm worried about my job, been hearing unsettling gossip around the office.

Time to look at my bank accounts I guess...
  • Back from holiday! Got rid of several inches from the bookcase :) Had a lovely time but didn't spend toooooo much I don't think. Most of the money I spent went on food, my other purchases include a gift for the boyfriend, a set of pretty coasters (for my house when I get it) and a bedset from a charity shop (double for £4!).

I set up a spreadsheet of my networth, I will be keeping up with it on a monthly level. It does however ignore my student debt which is languishing at about £30k, but it is attracting 0.9% interest and costs about £9 a month at my new salary.

Talking about salary, my boss told me that at 3 months I would get a pay review and I'm pretty close to that three months. Just before my holiday I was complimented on my work ethic and my capacity to work out what I'm supposed to do (I panicked and apologised) so I think this is a strong case for getting a raise. Hopefully. I will ask for a performance review, it will hopefully naturally come to an offer of a raise. If not, I will have to ask directly.

Been thinking about retirement recently. I'm nervous I don't have a good balance between cash savings and investments. But I desperately want my own house. Apparently in terms of early retirement, paying off your mortgage early is a poor idea. You are usually going to make more from investments than saving on the interest.

Wow KP, talking about retirement already, no-one can say you're not prepared!

Well, not wanting to sound morbid but I've been ill since I was 17, was told at 21 that it wasn't a good idea to work full time... I anticipate not being able to work a "normal" working period. So I have to plan!

My net worth has only risen £622.10 this month. How disappointing. :(

    I am so poorly. :(
