So it's Sunday. My productive weekend has not been as productive as I wanted.

I haven't called my ISA provider, my house has not been tidied as much as I wanted and I'm not as far into my course as I wanted to be by now.

However my linkedin has been significantly updated, though not completely finished.
I have worked out what I was doing wrong in my test for the course.
    Course is trundling along.
Found a possible job I could apply for as a progression into a career that has prospects.
Worked out what to do in an issue that has been bugging me at work.

Have decided to bring my work book into work so that I can work on my course during my lunch break. DnD has been cancelled this week, so can use that time to be productive instead of social.

    This week I will:
    • devote at least 10 hours to the course
    • complete my linkedin
    • rewrite my CV (again)
    • call my ISA provider and transfer all of my money into it

I just want a better paying job and a real career. But the people at work are amazing. /dilemmas

    Good morning.

So an update, payday is in 6 days so I really need to transfer my money to allow me to accurately measure how much I will save this year. The money in my accumulation account will be going into my ISA (I had thought I had set up a standing order but apparently I haven't), which I will then try to transfer to a better ISA.

My year old ISA just gave me an update on the interest-£31 woot.

I have spent way too much this month. Next month will be a lot more restricted, especially as I'm hoping to take my first AAT exam.

My progress on AAT and survey earnings has been stalled for the last week, I'm on new medication that is causing me to sleep about 12 hours a day. I'm hoping for next week to be better. Also my clinic has sent me a leaflet on depression... I'm not depressed, I'm in pain, what the? But I did get a 94% result on my progress test. Woo woo!

Hope any readers are having a good weekend.

I'm terrible at this diary lark.:rotfl:

Anyway, money updates, I spent too much this month so next month will be a lot tighter. Hopefully will cut down spending by around £100, but not buying food when I'm bored. No buying any clothes. Taking a week off work so no travel fees (I must take a week off before the end of March and that will be a busy month).

I still need to call my ISA provider. I need internet access.

I'm still reading through mrmoneymustache, though it is inspirational, it isn't 100% applicable to me as his earnings were so much higher than my own and I would LOVE to be earning that. Anyone know of UK blogs about money?

My TSB account gave me a very nice £9 and a bit in interest. I need to open up more interest yielding accounts, my next will be Nationwide for that nice 5% on up to 2.5k for one year. This should cover me for what isn't plopped into my ISA. After that I will open a BOS account. A guy at work was telling me that he likes to have his money in one place.. I resisted the urge to say "Can't hear over the sound of my interest". : P

I've found myself an opportunity to freelance write articles. It pays $100 per article so that's nice amount depending on the amount of time it takes. I have to write articles for work in any case so I should be fairly practised by now.

Today will be expensive. But I have my first ever date on valentines! Why haven't I had one before? Because I think it's a rip off. :rotfl: But I'm looking forward to it, my boyfriend is very sweet when he wants to be.

    Must fly, toodles!

I should be doing my course. But I'm so tired. And feeling a bit guilty. Yesterday I went on a date with the boyfriend, I hadn't paid in a while (not intentional) so I insisted on paying... just a tad less than £50. But normally we don't have expensive dates and I shouldn't be paying more than transport until the 14th.

I have to get myself an AAT membership and book an exam as well. Expenses, expenses.
  • Thought I would pop in and say hi.

January seems to be month to overspend, like you I am making February a tight month.

Hope you feel less tired soon.

Thanks for popping in! It's lovely to see you here. It's nice to know Feb is strict for others too. : )

Today was stressful, disappointing and busy. But only spent on travel so that's a plus.

    So updates.

Have opened a nationwide current account with a fairly nice 5% on up to 2.5k. So will be filling that and taking all of the interest out to accumulate that in my ISA. Every little helps.

I'm watching this cooking program at the moment, they keep saying that £2 portions is affordable! This is in reference to people using food banks! Utterly crazy!

My ISA is almost accessible now. One more phone call and I'll get into it! Woo.

This week I was almost very good. Up until friday, I had only spent on my travel to work. But then, £3.30 on a very unhealthy sausage and bacon baguette. However if I don't spend anything this weekend, I will have spend a little bit less than 7% of my monthly budget. Which makes up for my unbelievable overspend. Still managed to socialise as well. Boom.

AAT is going. Will need to take the exam soon. There is the smallest, most vague possibility that my work may contribute towards it.

Starting to look at new jobs as well. Wish me luck.

Feeling incredibly achey today. I achieved the unachievable and tidied my room partially yesterday. :rotfl:

Been reading the business and money pages of the telegraph (free with mywaitrose card) and they're interesting.

Working on AAT at the moment. Should be ready for booking the test which I'm dreading the money to be honest. I know that this is an investment in my own skills but the money!

I have worked out that I have roughly 6 months of savings for paying full bills so I'm feeling pretty confident that this is the time to look towards a new job and starting a proper career. Applied for 2 jobs this week, it's not a lot but this is on top of everything else.

With this level of savings as well, it is time to look at investing for a passive income. This is very exciting.:o

Finally managed to get into my Nationwide account! A nice 5% for me!

Have totalled my spending for the week (not anticipating any spend tomorrow) at just over 10% of my monthly budget. Yay!

Work is getting health cover. They won't cover my fibro and I should think that anything I would otherwise have would be attributed to it. I really doubt that I will get any benefit from it and would have to pay additional tax. Will need to know more but at the moment it's probably a no.

On a related note, I need to look into a prepayment thing for prescriptions, they cost the earth! The earth!

I had a very nice valentines night, I was taken out and arrived drenched to the bone. :rotfl: But the food was lovely and the service was great. But omg the weather!

Thanks to the trains being down, I have 30p discount on all of my train tickets. Yay. I haven't actually been very bothered either. I think only one train has been late for me (the perks of commuting on a shuttle train).

AAT is getting there. Just slowly. And annoyingly.

Need to work on my social life as well. Urgh.

    Greetings,

Feeling pretty bad today, my body hurts in general, my head is killing me and my hips are just horrendous. But good news! I have the week off!

So now it's 3 days until payday and I have roughly £70 left. Woot. I'm having a day trip on monday with friends, then should be going to a movie with the family on a different day. Otherwise I will be relaxing and trying to feel better.

Been thinking about my savings. I will hit the cut off for benefits soon, I'm not sure why but it makes me nervous, if I lose my job (not that's there's any indication of this) then I'd have to use my hard earned and hard kept money whereas someone who maybe isn't as careful as me would get help. I don't have anything against people getting benefits and can see the logic behind it, but but but my moneys!

I found out that quidco can be applied to your CC and DCs! Woo

I also want to get cash back credit card. But probably cannot get one, my income is pretty low.
